TURNER

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 1999 at Mish Funeral Home Southwest Chapel, 4030 Wible Rd. in Bakersfield for James David TURNER. David was born July 29, 1935 in Ada, Pontotoc Co., Oklahoma and passed away on October 19, 1999 in Bakersfield, CA.
He was a cherished and loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who is survived by his beloved wife Ruth TURNER; two sons, Mike TURNER of Ferndale, CA and Charlie TURNER of Bullhead City, AZ; four daughters, Pam WATKINS of Strathmore, CA, Melody FLORES of Strathmore, CA, Lori LOVE of Bakersfield, CA, and Ranae GORMAN of Paso Robles, CA; three brothers, John TURNER of Porterville, CA, Charles TURNER of Milwaukee, WI, and Robert TURNER of Ardmore, OK; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

BROWN

Funeral services will he held at Hillcrest Memorial Park for Annie Belle BROWN, 94, of Bakersfield who passed away Tuesday, November 30, 1999. Pastor John Maroney of Rosedale Praise Center will officiate at services.
Annie was born in Cobb Township, Oklahoma and moved to the Bakersfield area 37 years ago. She was a homemaker.
Annie is survived by her sons Jack BROWN, Clark BROWN, Louis BROWN; her brother Frank CASEY and a sister Grace PARR; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great granchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren.

DeWOODY

Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Ln., Monday, November 29 at 1 p.m. for Margaret Loretta DeWOODY, 62, who passed away November 25, 1999 in Bakersfield.
Margaret was born April 2, 1937 in McAlester, Pittsburg Co., Oklahoma and had resided in Kern County for 50 years. She was a truck driver for seven years.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lynn DeWOODY of Lamont, Randal DeWOODY of Greensboro, North Carolina; daughter Terri WILSON of McAlester, Oklahoma, mother Agnes SAVAGE of McAlester, Oklahoma, five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Belva THOMPSON of San Diego, Mary THOMPSON of McAlester, Oklahoma, Shirley THUDIUM of Tallahasse, Florida and Carolyn BROWN of Bakersfield; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and very dear friend, Linda CAUSEY.

HARRISON

On December 26, 1999 our beloved and cherished father left us to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m., Hillcrest Memorial Park.
(William) Vaughn (HARRISON) was born April 22, 1915 in Altus, Jackson Co., Oklahoma. He retired with the Kern County Health Dept. in 1977. His favorite past time was watching the Dodgers and his favorite daytime program All My Children. He also loved hunting birds and had many triple shots.
Vaughn was preceeded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Marjorie and his son Eugene. Survived by his children, Alan HARRISON, Greg and Stacy HARRISON, and daughter Stacy and husband Larry BRISCOE. Daughter-in-law Pat HARRISON. He was "Papa" to Bryan and Brady BRISCOE, Angela, Greg and Brandy HARRISON, Sherri JOHNSON, Rick HARRISON, Sandy SOSA and Shavon JOHNSON, Jason, Clinton, and Chandler HARRISON and 8 great grandchildren.
Dad we love you deeply. God Bless You. Have eternal life with our Lord. Send our love to everyone. Bye for now. Love Alan, Greg, and Stacy. Viewing Tuesday, December 28, 1-4 at Hopson-Anspach.

Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., Thursday, December 30 at 11 a.m. for Dorothy J. GRIFFIN, 67, who passed away December 25, 1999 in Bakersfield. Rev. Jim Adams will officiate.
Dorothy was born January 11, 1932 in Oklahoma and had resided in Bakersfield for 30 years.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bill GRIFFIN of Bakersfield, son Dale MURPHY of Los Angeles; daughter in law, Debbie MURPHY of Bakersfield; grandson Terry MURPHY of Bakersfield; granddaughter Amanda MURPHY of Bakersfield; brother Henery PARKER of Pheonix, Ariz; sister, Ann COOK of West Hills, CA. And niece Leslie NELSON of Sylmar.
No visitation is scheduled.

MILLS

Charles Luther MILLS was born Dec. 20, 1934 in Norman, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma to Clarice and Zada MILLS. He joined the Army and served during the Korean War. Charles retired from the Department of Water Resources after 34 years of service. He loved the outdoors, fishing and camping were among his favorite things to do.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary MILLS; 4 sons, Hank MILLS, Gary MILLS, James MILLS, and Charles MILLS, Jr.; 2 brothers, Robert MILLS of Oroville, CA and Frank MILLS of Boron, CA; 6 sisters, Bernice PARNELL, Esther BATES, Loretta MILLER, Sam OLIVER, Brenda SISCO, all of Oliver Hurst, CA and Sharon MILLER of Yuba City, CA; 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

COPELAND

Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., Tuesday, April 11 at 2:30 p.m. for Dora Lee COPELAND, 80, of Tehachapi, who passed away April 8, 2000 in a Bakersfield hospital. Pastor Richard Gilbertson will officiate.
Mrs. COPELAND was born February 9, 1920 in Antlers, Pushmataha Co., Oklahoma and had resided in Kern County for 26 years.
She is survived by her husband, James COPELAND of Tehachapi, children, John Lee COPELAND and wife, Anna of Pheoniz, Ariz., Paula M. COPELAND and James R. OWENS, both of Bakersfield; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin today, April 10 at 3 p.m.

Graveside services for Buford W. ROGERS will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2000 at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Rev. Tem Maddox will officiate.
Buford was born in Bowlegs, OK on April 25, 1936 and passed away here in Bakersfield on April 8, 2000
Buford was very proud of the fact that he had worked for 40 plus years in the oil industry. Buford's first love is his wife, but his second love is his fishing.
He is survived by his wife Charlene, son Carl ROGERS; daughters, Donna ROGERS, Angela STEVENS, Michele and her husband Al HERNANDEZ; son and daughter-in-law; Jason and Monica ACUNIA; 13 loved grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Bessie and Jim ALEXANDER.
Visitations will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hillcrest Mortuary.

BRADLEY

Viewing was held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26 for Lillie BRADLEY, 91, who passed away July 24 in the Delano Regional Medical Center.
Lillie BRADLEY was born January 1, 1909 in Oklahoma. She resided in the Delano area for 58 years and worked as a homemaker for 60 years.
She is survived by Melvin L. BRADLEY of Bakersfield, Grace SEGLER of Delano, Rachel PERRY of Bakersfield and Ruth LANGBY of Pensacola, Florida.
Graveside service was held 9 a.m at North Kern Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Powell officiating.
Parkview Mortuary handled the arrangements.

WILSON

Robert "Bob" Eddley WILSON was born in Ardmore, Carter Co., Oklahoma on February 2, 1924 to Holly Bessie and Joseph Thaddous WILSON. He had 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Initially, Bob worked in the agricultural fields and then ran off with his brother Dick and joined the Navy. Bob served in both WWII and the Korean War. He was on the USS Independence that was sunk by enemy fire and he was rescued at sea. Between his service in WWII and the Korean War, Bob settled in Kingsburg and met his wife Evelyn Louise FRAZIER. They were married on Jan. 16, 1952. Bob worked as a meat cutter in Kingsburg before joining Pacific Gas & Electric Company. While working for PG&E, Bob's family lived in Kingsburg, Merced, and Bakersfield. Bob and Evelyn had one son, Sterling Robert WILSON, who was born in 1958. Bob retired from PG&E in 1979. He lived in Bakersfield for over 30 years and in 1998 he moved to Selma.
Bob was not only a loving husband and father, but also a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and most of all golf and was a long time member of Stockdale Country Club in Bakersfield and Kings River Country Club in Kingsburg. Bob became a Mason in 1961. In 1992, Bob became friends with Jiggs, his West Highland white Terrier, and they became inseparable friends.
Bob passed away on August 3, 2000 and is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evelyn; his son and his wife, Sterling and Melinda; sisters, Lorene EYELER and Mary BARNETT and grandchildren Jeffery and Alexandria.
Visitation will be held at Creighton Memorial Chapel in Kingsburg on Monday, August 7, 2000 from Noon to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m on Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at the same Chapel. Internment will follow at Kingsburg Cemetery. The family asks that rememberances be made to the charity of your choice.

BLACKWOOD

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 7, 2000 at 10:00 a.m at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel for Pearl Katherine BLACKWOOD, 84, of Bakersfield, who went to be with her Lord on August 4, with her family at her bedside. Reverend Dearl Dawson will officiate.
Pearl was born July 21, 1916 in Lindsay, Garvin Co., Oklahoma to Marian and Georgia FARRIS, she was raised in school there. On October 8, 1932 she married Chester William BLACKWOOD and in 1944 the BLACKWOOD family moved to Lamont, California. Pearl worked alongside her husband in Lamont and Weedpatch to help support her family. She enjoyed gardening, embroidering and will be remembered for her famous burritos and feeding anyone who was hungry in the Weedpatch camp. She was a long standing member of the F.J.N. Church of Weedpatch, later Calvary Tabernacle of Bakersfield.
She was preceeded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Chester. She is survived by her daughter Wanda ABERNATHY and her husband of Corinth, Mississippi; her sons Kenneth BLACKWOOD and his wife Pat, Larry BLACKWOOD and his wife Linda, all of Bakersfield; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters Ollidale STEWART of Sacremento, California, Dennilee VICKERS of Oklahoma; brothers Paul FARRIS of Modesto and Chester "Buddy" FARRIS, of Sacremento, California.
Casketbearers will be her grandsons, Keith ABERNATHY, Darren, Kenny, Steven, and Keith BLACKWOOD and great-grandson Bradley DAWSON. Honorary Casketbearers will be Jim EAKEN and Joe LOPEZ.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 6, from 12:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. and immdiate family from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Mortuary.
