Preston L. (Shorty) Leonard, 60, died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday at his home after an extended illness. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lawton Funeral home chapel.
Maj. Luther Smith, Salvation Army Commander, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
Born Dec 12, 1891, in Lehigh, Okla., Mr. Leonard came to Lawton in 1901 from Duncan . He married Loes Depew Sept 21, 1937, in Hanson, Tex.
He is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Wiley B. Leonard, McGuire AFB, Trenton, N.J.; two brothers, P.G. Leonard, Huntsville, Ark., and Luther Leonard, Casa Grande, Ariz.; and one sister, Mrs. Floyd Pennick, Locksburg, Ark.

Services for Mrs. Margaret Rowe Hustead, 53 of 1438 N. 40th, who died about 4:45 a.m. Thursday in a local hospital following a long illness, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Central Baptist Church.

Rev. Richard Waters, pastor, will officiate, and burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens will be under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home.

A resident of Lawton since 1945, she was the wife of Lt. Col. (Ret.) James M. Hustead II, whose last assignment at Fort Sill was commanding officer of the 2nd Battalion, 80th Artillery. He retired in June, 1960.

She was born April 6, 1914, at Evanston, Ill. She was married to James Hustead on Dec. 16, 1944, at Fort Benning, Ga.

She attended Central Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir. She served as a volunteer worker at the Comanche County Center for Handicapped Children, No. 10 East B, and also had been active in scouting.

She received a bachelor of arts degree from Chatham College, Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1936. She did interior decorating work in New York City and in Pittsburgh prior to her marriage.

Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, James Hope Hustead, a student at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn., and Charles Edgar Hustead, a seventh grader at Eisenhower Junior High School; and a daughter, Virginia Ewing Hustead, a senior at Eisenhower Senior High School
