LAWLESS
A.A. (Almurn Archie) LAWLESS, 97, passed away February 6, 1995 at Antlers. He was born November 1, 1897, at Langley, Arkansas. He was the son of A.L. and Ellen LAWLESS, who  preceded him in death. He was a farmer/rancher and a member of the Antlers First Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, squirrel hunting, singing and had sung in a quartet for many years.
Survivors: his wife, Leona (CLARK) LAWLESS of the home, 3  sons: Almurn Archie LAWLESS, Jr. and wife Patsy of Antlers; Doyle LAWLESS and wife, Mattie of Antlers; Wayne LAWLESS and wife, Sirena of Antlers. 1 daughter, Sybil DUMMER and  husband, Wilmer of Dallas, TX. 1 brother -- Gilbert LAWLESS of Ft. Worth, TX; 2 sisters -- Delia HOWELL and Jean GRAY of Deleon, TX; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, and 6 step-grandchildren.
Services for A. A. LAWLESS were held at the Antlers First  Baptist Church on Thursday, February 9, 1995 at 1 p.m.
Internment was at Antlers City Cemetery. Doyle LAWLESS and Ron DUMMER officiated the services. Mills & Coffey Funeral Services, Antlers

HOLMES
Services for Laura Bell HOLMES were held January 16, 1995 at the Old Talihina Cemetery.She passed away at Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center in Poteau. She was 95 years old. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter HOLMES; a sister Jessie DIDWAY; a brother, Charles DIDWAY. Miss HOLMES was house mother and cook for several fraternities at OSU in Stillwater for several years.

JARVIS
Frankie G. JARVIS, daughter of Frank and  Mary Jane (JARVIS)TITSWORTH, was born November 11, 1902 in Reno, Ill. She departed this life February 12, 1995 at the age of 93. Frankie grew up in Illinois and was united in marriage to P. W. JARVIS, Nov. 12, 1920 in Hillsboro. They moved to Oklahoma in the 1920's and raised their family at Tuskahoma. Following her husband's death, she moved to Kingston and in 1966 to Mountain View where she resided until her death. She was member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain View. Her husband, parents, four brothers, seven children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandson preceded her in death.Funeral services were held February 15 at the First Baptist Church in Tuskahoma with Rev. C.D. Young officiating. Burial was at the Old Town Cemetery at Tuskahoma, with Hamilton-McClure Funeral Home of Cordell and Clayton Funeral Home in charge.

JOHNSON
Ruby Irene JOHNSON, 70 of Nashoba, died February 16, 1995. She was born December 1, 1924 at Muse to Jim and Nannie Rose PHILLIPS. She was a member of Christ Church Services were held February 18 at Nashoba Christ Church with Charles Talbott officiating. Burial was at Nolia Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

LEWIS
Crawford Howard (Buster or Chief) LEWIS, SR., 84 of Wilburton, died February 19,1995. He was born January 23, 1911 near Red Oak. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church, Elks Club, American Legion, and VFW. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 23, at Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Conyers officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

SCOTT
Everett Henry SCOTT, 85 of Wilburton, died February 17, 1995. He was born January 31, 1910 at Wilburton. He married Addie Mae SMITH June 27, 1935 at Stigler. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church and Oklahoma Retired Fire Fighters Assoc. He was a retired Wilburton city employee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Addie, on April 18, 1994. Services were held February 20 at Center Point Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Miller and Rev. Willard Francis officiating. Burial was at Center Point Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

WILCOX
Clarence Edward (Jack) WILCOX, 67 of Cravens, died February 15, 1995. He was born April 16, 1927 at Seminole. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Services were held February 18 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Grammar officiating. Burial was at Baldwin Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

WOODY
John Ivy WOODY, 74 of Talihina, died February 14, 1995. Funeral services were held February 16 in Talihina and in Fletcher, OK.

FILES
Nola Maggie FILES, 91 of Albion, died February 16, 1995 at the HCA Medical Center in Plano, Texas. She was born April 24, 1903 at Muldrow to D.L. and Della Brannon RAY. A lifetime resident of Albion, she was a member of the First Baptist Church at Albion. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Wheeler FILES, on May 16, 1974. Services were held February 18 at the First Baptist Church in Albion with Rev. Larry Bray and Rev. M. L. Files officiating. Burial was at the Old Talihina City Cemetery under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

NEWSOM
Lester Wyatt NEWSOM, 95, died February 17, 1995 at Oklahoma City. He was born June 10, 1899 at Cove, Arkansas to Jess and Nora Chaffin NEWSOM. He had worked as a carpenter. He is preceded in death by two sons, Leonard and Edward NEWSOM, and a daughter, Delvin CRAWFORD. Services were held February 20 at the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro with Rev. Darrow Sanderson officiating. Burial was at Whitesboro Cemetery under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home.

McDONALD
Nellie Elizabeth McDONALD, 83, died January 23, 1995 at the Hansford Manor in Spearman, Texas. She was born in Atoka, Oklahoma, and had lived in the Talihina area for 20 years and later in Perryton and Spearman, Texas. She married Earl E. McDONALD in 1931 in Beaver County, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Norene EDISON in 1978. Mrs. McDonald was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Perryton, Texas.

ALLEN
Henry ALLEN, 92 of Red Oak, died February 13, 1995. He was born March 31, 1902 in Arkansas. He was a member of North Rock Creek Baptist Church. Services were held February 15 at North Rock Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Marley officiating. Burial was at North Rock Creek Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

WATKINS
Loyal R.WATKINS Sr., 69 of Red Oak, died February 15, 1995. He was born March 15, 1925 at Nashoba. Services were held February 19 at the United Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Phillips officiating. Burial was at Red Oak Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

DIVINE
Eva (Evy) Marie DEVINE, age 80 of Red Oak, Oklahoma, passed away February 19, 1995, at the Latimer County Nursing Home at Wilburton. She was born June 25, 1914 at Wister, OK and had lived in the Bengal, OK area for the past 40 years. Services were held February 20 at the Drake-Jones Chapel in Talihina with Rev. Leon Sheapard officiating. Internment was at Peachland Cemetery in Bengal.

STRICKLAND
Carl B. STRICKLAND, 64 of Panola, died March 20, 1995. He was born November 25, 1930 at Leflore. He was a member of the Salonia Free Will Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was retired from 36 years with the Oklahoma Natural Gas Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Luther Dee and Austin STRICKLAND, and a sister, Eunice LOWE. Services were held March 23 at Red Oak First Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Phillips and Rev. Leon Sheppard officiating. Burial was at Red Oak Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

BYNUM
Minnie A. BYNUM, 82 of Wilburton, died March 27, 1995. She was born September 20, 1912 at Boswell, Oklahoma. She married Noel H.BYNUM December 17, 1930 at Wilburton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Noel BYNUM, a son Ed BYNUM, a daughter Nancy Jane BYNUM and her parents. Services were held March 28 at Jones Home Chapel with Rev. Willard Francis officiating. Burial was at Center Point Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

MOWDY
King MOWDY, 93 of Honobia, died March 28, 1995. He was born July 17, 1901. Funeral services are pending with Drake-Jones Funeral Home.

Betty Margaret OLIVER, 67 of Wilburton, died April 4, 1995. She was born July 31, 1927 at Panola. She married James Ellis "Slim" OLIVER June 14, 1959 at Wilburton. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Cleatus McKEE. Services were held April 7 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Willard Francis officiating. Burial was at Lutie Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

BLAIR
Donald Wayne BLAIR, 60 of Valliant, died April 4, 1995 at Hugo. He was born September 15, 1934 at Clayton to D.H. and Lera Mae MEADOWS BLAIR. He was a millwright and mechanic and was of the Baptist faith. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of the NRA and Woodsman of the World. Services were held April 7 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton with Rev. David Sanders officiating. Burial was at Old Town Cemetery in Clayton under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

MELTON
Larry MELTON, Jr., 47 of Talihina, died April 8, 1995 at the Choctaw Nation Indian Hospital at Talihina. He was born July 1, 1947 at Lenox and had lived in the Talihina area all of his life. He was of the Protestant faith. Services were held April 11 at Goodsprings Methodist Church at Lenox with Rev. Billie Nowabbi officiating. Burial was at Goodsprings Cemetery under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home.

REISSAUS
John J. REISSAUS, 86 of Red Oak, died April 9, 1995. He was born January 27, 1909 at Tecumseh. He was of the Baptist faith. Services were held April 12 at Red Oak First Baptist Church with Rev. Dudley Mullins officiating. Burial was at Red Oak Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

BLAIR
Argus A. BLAIR, 88 of Clayton, died April 7, 1995 at Antlers. He was born March 4, 1907 at Bates, Arkansas to James William and Beutie WRIGHT BLAIR. He moved to Clayton in 1926. He was a carpenter and a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Graveside services were held April 10 at A.L. Stephens Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Reichman officiating. Clayton Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

OLSON
Kenneth A. OLSON
, 60 of Clayton, died April 8, 1995 at Talihina. He was born December 8, 1934 at Dooley, Montana to Oscar and Ester Anderson OLSON. He was a retired oilfield worker, coming to the Clayton community in 1982. Graveside services were held April 11 at Clayton City Cemetery with Gary Fuller officiating. Clayton Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

LEWIS
Zetta LEWIS, 79 of Clayton, died April 8, 1995 at McAlester. She was born August 31, 1916 at Pickens, Oklahoma to Jim and Pairlee Ashley HAYNES. She is preceded in death by Gearl LEWIS and Betty PETERS. Services were held April 10 at Clayton Christian Church with Johnny Joslin officiating. Burial was at A.L. Stephens Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

WILLIAMS
Loweta WILLIAMS, 66 of Tuskahoma, died April 1, 1995 at Oklahoma City. She was born October 28, 1928. Services were held April 8 at the Tuskahoma School gymnasium with Rev. Buddy Watts officiating. Burial was at Cole Spur Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

HAIRRELL
Irene Young HAIRRELL, 85 of Clayton, died April 6, 1995 at Antlers. She was born January 22, 1910 at Hartville, Missouri to Calvin and Rettie Cody YOUNG, moving to the Clayton area when she was four years old. Services were held April 9 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton with Johnny Joslin and Rev. Jim Collier officiating. Burial was at Pine Spur Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

DODD
Lucille Lydia DODD, 88 of Wilburton, died April 1, 1995. She was born February 8, 1907 in Alabama. She married Andrew DODD November 21, 1925 at Wilburton. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Wilburton. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers and three sisters. Services were held April 6 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Conley Wright officiating. Burial was at the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

CAUDELL
Harry Quentin CAUDELL, 75 of Tuskahoma, died April 30, 1995 at St. Francis Medical Center in Tulsa.  He was born June 15, 1919 at Howe to Tom and Lela Caudell.  He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Clayton.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He had worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a credit officer for 10 years until he retired in 1974.  Rosary services will be held May 4 at 7 p.m. at Drake-Jones Chapel in Talihina.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 5 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Clayton with Father Joseph Dean and Father Urban Kramer S.J. officiating.  Burial will be at Old Town Cemetery, Tuskahoma.

COLE
Gladys Jewell COLE, 69 of Tuskahoma, died April 27, 1995 at Valliant.  She was born September 6, 1925 at Fewell, Oklahoma to Joseph and Julia (THOMPSON) VAN HOOSER.  She was of the Baptist faith.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee COLE.  Services were held April 29 at Clayton Christ Church with Gary Fuller officiating.  Burial was at A.L. Stephens Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

TURNEY
Eula Lula TURNEY, 85 of Clayton, died April 29, 1995 at Henryetta.  She was born October 29, 1909 in Wetumka.  She had lived all her life in the Clayton and Sardis areas.  Services were held May 1 at Clayton Christian Church with Gary Fuller officiating.  Burial was at Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home

BENCH
Danner BENCH, 89 of Wilburton, died April 26, 1995.  She was born December 26, 1905 at Quinton.  She married Charley Henry BENCH in 1919 at Quinton.  She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.  She is preceded in death by her husband, a son, Ray, and a daughter, Violet.  Services were held April 28 at Jones Funeral Chapel with Rev. Willard Francis officiating.  Burial was at the Old City Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

TAYLOR
Alma Katherine TAYLOR, 74, of Wilburton, died Thursday at her home.  She was born May 14, 1920 in Poteau.  She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Wilburton Public Schools.   Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Wilburton with Rev. Ray Talbot and Rev. James Tidenburg officiating.  Burial was at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.  She was preceded in death by her husband. 

FIELDS
Rodney Dale FIELDS, 53  of Wichita, KS, died April 29, 1995 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center.  He was born June 29, 1941 at Big Cedar.  He is preceded in death by his father, H.O. "Dick" FIELDS. He was a member of the National Rifle Assn and the American Hunting Club.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.  Services were held May 2 at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead, KS with Gary Harms offficiating.

MEASHINTUBBY
Lena Ruth MEASHINTUBBY, 63 of Honobia, died April 30, 1995 at St. Edwards Medical Center in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.  She was born March 2, 1932 at Honobia.  She had lived in the Honobia area all her life.  She was a member of the Rock Creek Presbyterian Church at Honobia.  Services were held May 3 at Springhill Presbyterian Church in Honobia with Rev. Randy Jacob, Eugene Wilson, and Riley Donica officiating.  Burial was at Springhill Cemetery at Ludlow under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home.

BUTLER
Larry Wayne BUTLER, 44 of Wilburton, died April 27, 1995 at Ft. Smith, Arkansas.  He was born April 23, 1951 at Clinton, OK.  He was a mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.  Services were held at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willard Francis officiating.  Burial was at Damon Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

MONTGOMERY
Billie MONTGOMERY, 67 of Red Oak, left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on May 6, 1995 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.  She was born October 11, 1927 at Red Oak.  She was married on August 12, 1946 at Van Buren, Arkansas.  She was a member of the Red Oak North Rock Creek Baptist Church.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Clarence REVIS, and a son, Larry Francis MONTGOMERY. Services were held May 8, at the North Rock Creek Baptist Church in Red Oak with Rev. James Carpenter and Dr. Eugene Marley officiating.  Burial was at North Creek Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

HILBURN
T.C.HILBURN, 72 of Red Oak, died May 5, 1995.  He was born November 12, 1922 at Red Oak.  He was married January 12, 1942 at Red Oak.  He was preceded in death by his paents and a son, Chris HILBURN, in September 1994.  Graveside services were held May 8 aat North Rock Creek Cemetery with Rev. Randy Holmes and Rev. Dudley Mullins officiating.  Jones Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

THOMAS
Ruby Lee THOMAS, 53 of tuskahoma, died May 4, 1995 at Talihina.  She was born November 9, 1941 at Rocky, OK to William and Ruby CAIN.  She married in 1962 at Akron, Ohio.  She was an employee of Norton Medical Co and was of the Protestant faith.  Graveside services were held May 7 at Old Town Cemetery, Tuskahoma, with Gary Fuller officiating.  Clayton Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

TOBIASSON
Ada Belle TOBIASSON, 72, of Honobia, OK was born November 23, 1923 at Albion, OK and passed away May 6, 1995 at St. Edwards Medical Center at Ft. Smith, Arkansas.  She has lived in the Honobia, OK, area for the past eleven years.  She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints of Talihina, OK.  She was married in 1969 at Las Vegas, NV and preceded in death by a son Thomas Allen CRANE.  Services were held May 9 at the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in Talihina with Randell Durant officiating.  Interment was at the Bohanon Cemetery in Whitesboro.

Mabel Louise CUTLER, 89 of Wiburton, died May 12,1995. She was born Sept. 19,1905 at Belpre, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.H. CUTLER; two sons, Donnie and Jay CUTLER, and a daughter, Pauline GUFFEY. Graveside services were held May 17 at Glen Haven Memorial Park in San Fernando, CA

BURGER
Jewel Carmen (WADE) BURGER, 76 of Clemmons, N.C., died May 12, 1995. She was born April 8,1919 in Red Oak to Mac L. and Julie (CHEATHAM ) WADE. She married Joe Thomas BURGER in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1967. She moved to the village of Clemmons in 1986. Graveside services were held May 16 at the Wilburton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

GARRISON
Earl Gene GARRISON, Sr. 65 of Clayton, died May 12,1995. He was born Sept. 23, 1929 at Tuskahoma to John and Leslie GARRISON. He married Ann HARPER Dec.27,1948 at Antlers. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force. Graveside services were held May 15 at Old Town Cemetery at Tuskahoma.

DAGLEY
William Milton DAGLEY, 92 of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away at his home on June 2, 1995.  He was born May 13, 1903 in Texas to John and Maggie DAGLEY.  Formerly of Talihina, he had resided in West Palm Beach, Florida for the past 2 1/2 years.  He was of the Baptist faith.  He was a member of the Shriners and El Madia Temple in El Paso, TX and had been a Mason for 65 years where he was a 33rd degree Mason.  Masonic services were held at the Old Talihina City Cemetery.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, on September 29, 1982 and a daughter, Juanita ELLIS in 1992.  Services were held June 7 at the Drake-Jones Chapel with the Revs. Billy Moore and Jerry Grammer officiating.  Interment was in the Old Talihina City Cemetery under the direction od Drake-Jones Funeral Home.

JENKINS
Billy J. JENKINS, 64, passed away June 7, 1995.  Born in Wilburton, June 1, 1931, he was married on June 6, 1953.  He moved to Choctaw in 1960 and worked at Robberson Steel and Capital Steel for a total of 40 years.  Funeral services were held June 9, 1995.  Final resting place was Damon Cemetery in Wilburton, Oklahoma.

PEPPERS
Esther PEPPERS, 90, of Wilburton, passed away June 9 in Norman, OK.  Born in Red Oak on September 23, 1904, she had lived in Wilburton all of her life until she moved to Norman in 1993 to live with her daughter.  She graduated from Wilburton High School in 1923 and attended Eastern Oklahoma State College.  Esther married Floyd PEPPERS in 1924.  She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Wilburton for the past 54 years.  She was active in the Fidelis Sunday School Class of which she helped organize.  She received her 50 year pin in the Eastern Star, where she served as secretary for many years.  Services were held June 12 at the Jones Fuineral Home Chapel with the Revs. Joe Rhodes and Ray Talbott officiating.  Interment was in the Wilburton City Cemetery.

KILMER
Jeff Ocie KILMER, 71 of Davis, OK, passed away June 15 at the OK Veterans Center in Talihina. He was born Feb.29,1924 at Grandfield, OK to Levi and Millie KILMER. He was an army veteran of WWII. Graveside services were held at the Greenhill Cemetery in Davis, OK on June 19,1995.

CHASTAIN
Evy CHASTAIN, 102 of Wilburton, passed away on June 18,1995. She was born Jan.24,1893 in Limrock, AL. and was married to Bert CHASTAIN. Graveside services were held June 21 at the Nolia Cemetery in Nashoba,OK.

REYNOLDS
Chester William REYNOLDS, 84 of Dunbar, died June 12,1995 at his home. He was born April 27,1911 at Eufaula to Edward and Mary (ROGERS) REYNOLDS. Services were held June 14 at the Clayton High School auditorium. Burial was at the Reynold's Family Cemetery.

PHILLIPS
Delila Mae PHILLIPS, 68 of McAlester,OK passed away June 8,1995 at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born on April 3,1927 to Fern and Vergie HARRIS. Graveside services were held June 17 at the First United Methodist Church in Talihina. Interment was at the Cole Spur Cemetery in Tuskahoma.

HAMILTON
Clent C. HAMILTON, 58, passed away June 10, 1995 in OK City. Mr. Hamilton was born Aug. 10,1936 at Talihina to Goldie and Mattie (CARLISLE) HAMILTON. He married Marilyn BRETT in Longview, Washington, on March 14,1959. He was preceded in death by a sister, Opla YOUNG, and two brothers, George and Grady HAMILTON. Services were held June 15,1995 at the Kalama Church of the Nazarene. Interment was in Longview Memorial Park.

LAUGHLIN
Mary G. LAUGHLIN, 94 of Red Oak, passed away June 17 at her home. Born Oct. 20,1900 in Wilburton, she was the daughter of Bob and Millie JONES. She married C.C.(Lum) GILLESPIE on Dec.1,1919 in Panola, and he preceded her in death in 1968. She later married Claude LAUGHLIN on May 6,1976 in Henryetta, and he also preceded her in death in 1985. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Red Oak. She was preceded in death by two children, Billy and Mollie, and two grandchildren Christopher Lee and Mary Lea GILLESPIE.

COYER
Vanita E. COYER, 95 of Wilburton, passed away June 22, 1995.  She was born March 24, 1900 in Okfuskee County, Indian Territory.  She was married to Jess R. COYER in February 1925 in Okemah, OK.  She was preceded in death by her husband on May 26, 1945.  Mrs. COYER had been a widow for the past 50 years.  She was a member of High Bridge Baptist Church for the past six years and was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Nicoma Park for 45 years.  There she taught Sunday School in the Junior Dept. for 35 years.  She retired from the Choctaw/Nicoma Park School system as a food service worker.  Services were held at High Bridge Baptist Church on Saturday, June 24, with Rev. David Ward officiating.  Interment was at High Bridge Cemetery.  Jones Funeral Home conducted the services.

FAZEKAS
James Norlin FAZEKAS, 70 of Wilburton, passed away Monday, June 26, 1995.  He was born November 16, 1924.  He was married on November 6, 1948 in Adamson, OK.  He was affiliated with the Church of Christ.  Services were conducted at Jones Funeral Home Chapel on June 28 with Arnold Johnson officiating.  Interment was at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

MILLER
El Freida MILLER of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Talihina, passed away recently.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.A. COLEMAN,  four brothers, a son, and her husband, Leo MILLER, all of Talihina.  Burial was at Knoxville Memorial Gardens.

MULLIN
Michael Gene MULLIN, 47 of Damon Valley, died June 26, 1995 at Wilburton.  He was born January 29, 1948 at Oklahoma City.  He had lived in Damon Valley for the past 12 years.  He was an oil lease/industrial land man and was of the Protestant faith.  Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at Damon Cemetery.  Rev. Mitch Mullin will officiate. Clayton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Bill Orvil BURT, 83 of Yanush, died July 18, 1995 at Oklahoma City.  He was born April 28, 1912 in Wilty, OK to John and Florence (UTHREY) BURT.  He was married Sept. 13, 1932 at Albion.  He was a farmer and was of the Protestant faith.  He is preceded in death by three children, Bobby, Billy Joe and Donald BURT, and a brother, Buster BURT.  Services were held July 21 at Yanush Assembly of God Church with Rev. Gary Madlock officiating.  Burial was at Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

WILLIAMS
Leta Wyrone WILLIAMS, 66 of Nashoba, died July 17, 1995 at Antlers.  She was born December 28, 1928 at Crowder, OK to John and Anis (SMALL) MOBERLY.  She married Sam WILLIAMS, who preceded her in death.  She is also preceded in death by a sister and a brother.  She was a member of the Assembly of God church.  Services were held July 20 at Nolia Assembly of God Church with Rev. Gene Anoatubbee and Rev. Conley Wright officiating.  Burial was at Ludlow Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

HARMS
Louis August HARMS, 93 of Wilburton, died July 17, 1995 at McAlester.  He was born May 9, 1902 at Round Lake, Minn. to William and Mitilda (VOLBERDEAN) HARMS.  He was married October 31, 1932, in Gallup, New Mexico.  They lived in the Tuskahoma area for years before moving to Wilburton.  He was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad and was of the Baptist faith.  Services were held July 20 at the First Baptist Church in Tuskahoma with Rev. Ray Breeden officiating.  Burial was at A.L. Stephens Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

MEYERS
Lula Mae MEYERS, 76 of Talihina, died July 19, 1995 at the Choctaw Nation Indian Hospital.  She was born August 15, 1918 at Clinton, OK to Ira and Jennie HUSTON.  She had resided in Talihina for the past 60 years, where as a beautician, she owned and operated a beauty shop for 50 years.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Talihina.  Services were held July 22 at Drake-Jones Chapel with Rev. Billy Moore officiating.  Burial was at the New Talihina City Cemetery under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home.

Jack Don HUFF, Sr., 83 of Eufaula, died August 21, 1995.  He was born May 22, 1912 at Shamrock, TX.  He was married in 1946 at DeQueen, Ark.  He was a member of VFW Post 8798 in Eufaula.  Services were held August 24 at the Red Oak Assembly of God Church with Rev. Randy Holmes officiating.  Burial was at Rock Creek Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

BLUE
Eva I. BLUE, 61 of Divide, died August 25, 1995 at Antlers.  She was born May 4, 1934 at Matoy, OK to Henry and Beula (CARTER) ALEXANDER.  She was married September 7, 1962 at Hugo.  She was a lifelong resident of the Divide area.  Mrs. Blue was employed as library assistant at Clayton School for a number of years.  She attended Christ Church at Nashoba.  She is preceded in death by a son, Danny Joe in 1963, and a daughter, Margaret Ann in 1965.  Services were held August 28 in the Clayton School Auditorium with Charles Talbott, assisted by Harold Starbuck, officiating.  Burial was at Finley Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home

WILCOX
Ray Virgil WILCOX, 80 of Wilburton, died August 23, 1995.  He was born September 4, 1914 at Cravens.  He was married on April 20, 1938 at Poteau.  He was a life member of the VFW and was a retired pipeline superintendent.  Services were held August 26 at Center Point Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Brannon and Rev. Doug Miller officiating.  Burial was at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

SIDES
Granvil SIDES, 82 of Wilburton, died August 24, 1995.  He was born May 20, 1913 at Crescent, OK.  He was married April 14, 1944 at Wellington, KS.  He was a retired oil field driller and was of the Methodist faith.  He is preceded in death by a son.  Services were held August 26 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Way officiating.  Burial was at Lutie Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

Ray MARLEY,  86 of Nashoba, passed away September 17, 1995 at McAlester Regional Hospital.  Services were held September 19 at Christ's Church in Nashoba.  He was born February 19, 1909 at Mill Creek, OK.  He was married October 24, 1929 at Atoka.  He was a farmer and rancher all his life.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannetta, his parents, and three brothers.  Burial was at Mount Olive Cemetery near Stringtown under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

MUNCY
Florence MUNCY, 74 of Red Oak, died September 13, 1995.  She was born September 16, 1920 at Salonia.  She married William Murphy MUNCY, Sr. November 14, 1953 at Poteau.  She was a member of United Freewill Baptist Church in Red Oak.  She is preceded in death by her husband.  Services were held September 14 at the United Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Holmes officiating.  Burial was at Red Oak Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

MEDDERS
Andrew William (Bill) MEDDERS, 88 of Falfa, died September 19, 1995 at Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center.  He was born November 4, 1906 at Talihina, Indian Territory to John and Gertrude (PIATT ) MEDDERS.  He had been a farmer/rancher in the Pear Grove/Falfa area west of Talihina all of his life.  He was married on November 10, 1931.  He was an honorary lifetime member of the Talihina Roundup Club.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jimmie, Bob and Benny, sisters Mae Sisk, Maudie Hoffman and Ethel Sue Medders.  Services will be held Friday, September 22, at 10 a.m. at the Buffalo Valley school gym with Jerry Don Medders and Rev. Carrol Fitzgerald officiating.  Burial will be at the New Talihina City Cemetery under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home.

KENNEDY
Maxine S. KENNEDY passed away September 21, 1995 in Wilburton at the age of 84.  She was born October 10, 1910 at Heavener to James S. and Daisey (PATTON) SMITH.  She was a 1928 graduate of Wilburton High School.  She taught school at New Hope and Higgins communities.  She and Ed KENNEDY were married on March 28, 1930 in Wilburton.  She worked at the family business, the K.C.S. Chevrolet Co., for many years.  She and her husband, Ed, purchased the A-OK Motel in 1963 and Mrs. Kennedy operated it until her retirement in 1978.  She was preceded in death by her husband on May 29, 1965; her parents; two sisters, Juanita AHLERS and Geraldine LANE;  and a brother, Ralph SMITH.  Services were held September 24 at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Lin Sylvester officiating.  Burial was at Wilburton City Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

MINYARD
Cynthan Rosebud MINYARD, 73 of Nashoba, died September 20, 1995 at McAlester Regional Hospital.  She was born February 10, 1922 at Nashoba to Wes and Matilda BRUCE.  She was a member of the Christ's Church at Nashoba.  Graveside services were held September 22 at Nolia Cemetery with Rev. Charles Talbott officiating.  Clayton Funeral Home hane arrangements.

BUSKO
Janice DiAntonio BUSKO, 51 of Dayton, Ohio, died September 20, 1995.  She was born August 7, 1944 at Woodville, Mississippi. Services were held September 24 at the First Assembly of God Church in Wilburton with Rev. Conley Wright officiating.  Burial was at Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

HAYNES
Edna Amanda HAYNES, age 86 of Tahlequah, OK was born October 12, 1908 in Cleveland Co., OK.  She passed away September 29, 1995 at the "Go Ye" Retirement Village in Tahlequah.  She had been a resident of Tahlequah for the past six months.  She had formerly resided in Talihina, OK, for over 40 years.  She had been employed as a Social Worker with the Indian Health Services for 27 years until her retirement.  She had received her Master's Degree in Sociology from Tulane University and Oklahoma State University.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Talihina, a charter member of the Talihina Business and Professional Women's Club, and member of the American Association of Retired Persons.  Gravesite services were held at Warren Cemetery on October 2, 1995 with the Revs. Jack Tecumseh Curtis and Mitch Stewart presiding.  Interment was at Warren Cemetery in Norman, OK.

LENNON
Funeral services were held September 30 at the Stanley Christ Church for Mallie Allen LENNON, 93, of Clayton.  Services were conducted by Clayton Funeral Home.  Mr. LENNON was born August 21, 1902 at Rains Co., TX to W.J. and Arry LENNON.  He was married on May 31, 1931 at Hugo and moved to the Clayton community in 1941.  He was a carpenter and woodworker by profession.  Services were conducted by Johnny Joslin with interment at the A.L. Stephens Cemetery.

GILLHAM
Sherman GILLHAM, 85 of Clayton, passed away September 29, 1995 in Antlers, OK.  He was born February 10, 1910, to E. GILLHAM and Idaellen GILLHAM and was retired from the railroad.  Services were conducted by Clayton Funeral Home at their Chapel on October 3 with Alton Linker officiating.  Interment was in Cupco Cemetery.

Ruth Stella HOLT, 94, of Talihina, died November 4, 1995 at McAlester Regional Medical Center.  She was born August 28, 1901 at Wright, Tenn.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Talihina.  She had been a resident of Talihina most of her life.  She taught school at Talihina and Whitesboro.  She also owned and operated the Holt's Variety Store in Talihina for a number of years.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Talihina and the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Gale HOLT, in 1975, and a daughter, Jimmie, in 1930.  Services were held November 7 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Curtis officiating.  Burial was at the Old Talihina City Cemetery under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home.

CONLEY
Ranes M. (Rufus) COLEY, 90 of Wilburton, died October 31, 1995.  He was born January 23, 1905 at Red Oak. He married Lela YOTA December 23, 1923 at Wilburton.  He was a member of South Rock Creek Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, a son and daughter, his parents, a great-grandson, and a great-great-grandson.  Services were held November 3, at South Rock Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Leslie Pope and Rev. John Coley officiating.  Burial was at South Rock Creek Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Tressa (HOGNER) HOKIT, 81 of Muskogee, were held Tuesday at Hart Memorial Chapel in Stilwell, with Rev. Andy Gonzales and Raymond Fourkiller officiating.  Burial was at the Fairfield Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.  She was born August 31, 1914, in Adair Co., OK to Joseph and Nancy (PIGEON) HOGNER.  She died November 11 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.  She served as a registered nurse for 37 years and retired in 1974 from the Public Health Indian Hospital in Talihina, OK  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Skake and Levi HOGNER, a sister Mary FOURKILLER, and her husband of 37 years, Everett Vardie HOKIT whom she married on December 15, 1941 in Mena, Arkansas.

KIRKES
Greely Henderson KIRKES, 73, of Clayton, died November 12, 1995 at Talihina.  He was born August 10, 1922 at Yanush to William and Onie Frances (CARLTON) KIRKES.  He was a self-employed truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.  He is preceded in death by his father, a brother Grady KIRKES, and three sons, Glen and infant twins.  Services were held November 14 at Cupco Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Carroll Fitzgerald officiating.  Burial was at A.L. Stephens Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

DRAPER
Bill True DRAPER, 70 of Wilburton, OK, passed away November 14, 1995 at the McAlester Regional Hospital.  He was born in western Latimer Co. (Clonsilla) September 4, 1925 to True and Mary (McDONALD) DRAPER.  At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II.  He also served his country during the Korean Conflict and was disabled during this tour of duty.  Services were held November 17 at the High Bridge Baptist Church and interment followed in the church cemetery.  Services were conducted by Rev. David Ward, Rev. Gary Madlock and Dr. James Brancsum, under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Wilburton.

GREEN
George Edward GREEN, 86 of Muse, OK was born February 14, 1909 at Whitely Arkansas to Harrison Jube and Sarah Elizabeth (MORGAN) GREEN.  He passed away November 17, 1995 at Sparks Regional Medical Center, Fort Smith, Arkansas.  He has been a construction worker, rancher and farmer.  He was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Whitesboro, OK.  He was married at Whitesboro in 1928.  Gravesite services were held November 20 at the Muse Cemetery with Rev. Oddis Farris officiating under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home of Talihina.

STOUT
John M. STOUT, 58 of Clayton, died November 13, 1995 at Muskogee.  He was born December 21, 1936 at Oklahoma City to John Alvin and Dorothea (SAMPLES) STOUT.  He lived in the community for 13 years.  He retired from the U.S. Marines as Master Sergeant and was employed at Lockheed Aircraft.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elaine SEBERGER.  Services were held November 17 at New Hope Harvest Church in Clayton with Rev. Jim Collier officiating.  Burial was at A.L. Stephens Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

QUAID
Odis E. QUAID, 74 of Wilburton, died November 12 at McAlester Regional Hospital.  Funeral services were held November 14 at Centerpoint Baptist Church in Wilburton.  Burial was at the Wardville Cemetery.  Odis was born April 24, 1921, in Coalgate, OK to Mabel (FORTNER) QUAID and Edgar Garland QUAID.  He grew up in Ashland, OK and worked for the Civilian Conservations Corps in Shell, Wyoming, before serving in the U.S. Army in World War II.  He taught school in Boswell and Picher before moving to Wilburton in 1953 to teach industrial arts at Eastern State College where he retired in 1983 after 30 years of service.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James McGRAWof Booker, TX.

JAMES
Jacob Jackson JAMES, Jr., 55 of Wilburton, died November 27, 1995 at Okmulgee.  He was born May 9, 1940 at Shady Point to Jacob and Edna (CAHOON) JAMES.  He was a member of the Jehovah Witness faith.  He had been a resident of Wilburton for the past 10 years.  He was married at Tulsa in 1960.  He had worked in the Weyerhaueser Lumber Mill at Ft. Towson, OK.  He is preceded in death by his father, Jacob JAMES, Sr. in 1976 and a half-sister, Ada McGEE.  Graveside services were held November 29 at the New Talihina City Cemetery under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home.

ABBOTT
C. Marie (THORNTON) ABBOTT, age 76 of Talihina, was born September 25, 1917, in Stuart, OK to William and Nora Ann THORNTON.  She passed away November 24, 1995, at her home in Talihina, OK.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Talihina, OK.  She had lived in the Whitesboro/Talihina area since 1970.  She was preceded in death by her husband James Daniel ABBOTT on September 9, 1978, and a son, Daniel Lee ABBOTT, on May 10, 1985.  Services were conducted by Drakes-Jones Funeral Home of Talihina at the First Baptist Church in Talihina with Rev. Billy Moore officiating.  Interment was in the Whitesboro Cemetery.

Juanita Mildred KIMBERLIN, 82 of Talihina, died December 13, 1995.  She was born September 30, 1913 at Tuskahoma to Cleve and  Annie WADE.  She was a lifetime resident of the Talihina/Tuskahoma area.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Talihina.  She was retired from employment in the food service department with the Eastern Oklahoma State Sanitorium and the Oklahoma Veterans Center at Talihina.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. KIMBERLIN, on September 29, 1985.  Services were held December 20 at Talihina First Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Moore and Rev. Wade Robertson officiating.  Burial was at the Old Talihina City Cemetery under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home.

COUCH
John Henry COUCH, 83 of McAlester, died December 14, 1995.  He was married on June 21, 1941 at Antlers.  Services were held December 18 at Christian Church in Clayton with Pete Heflin officiating.  Burial was at Old Town Cemetery, Clayton, under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.

FRENCH
Sherman S. FRENCH, 85 of Wilburton, died December 14, 1995.  He was born August 28, 1910 at Shirley, Arkansas.  He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Wilburton and a member of the Wilburton Masonic Lodge #131.  He is preceded in death by his former wife, Essie Mankin FRENCH, in June 1970; a brother, Bill FRENCH, three sisters, Bess MUSE, Eva McJUNKIN,  and Cecil HAMILTON, and his parents.  Services were held December 16 at the First Baptist Church in Wilburton with Rev. Ray Talbott and Rev. Bennie Hindman officiating.  Burial was at Memorial Gardens under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

SKAGGS
Roy SKAGGS, Jr., 60 of Wilburton, died December 14, 1995.  He was born January 17, 1935 at Dow, OK.  He was married July 1, 1978 at Wilburton.  He was retired from EOSC and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Nell SKAGGS; sister Florence SUTTER and Sara McCORD; and half-sister Lois BEFYANT.  Services were held December 16 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Ratliff officiating.  Jones Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Juanita J. BRANNON, 75 of Muse, OK was born August 1, 1920, at Milburn, TX to John and Maude (TURNER) GALBREATH.  She passed away December 20, 1995, at McAlester Regional Medical Center, McAlester.  She had been a lifetime resident of the Muse area.  She was a member of the Muse First Baptist Church.  She was married to O. B. BRANNON,  April 10, 1948.  She had retired in 1983 after over 20 years of employment with the Eastern Oklahoma State Sanitarium in the laundry service department.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on July 4, 1994; two sister, Mildred LOOPER and Doris HOLT; three brothers, James William, Walter Eugene and Jasper Earl GALBREATH.  Services were held at the First Baptist Church in Muse on December 23 with Rev. Carrol Fitzgerald officiating.  Interment was in the Muse Cemetery.

QUAID
Laurita Eloise (FARRIS) QUAID, 71, died December 19, 1995 in Wilburton.  Services were held December 21 at the Centerpoint Baptist Church in Wilburton with burial at the Wardville Cemetery.  Rev. Tommy Brannon and Rev. Doug Miller officiated at the funeral service and Rev. Tom Ratliff conducted the graveside service.  Services were handled by the Jones Funeral Home of Wilburton.  She was a school teacher for 41 years and retired in 1988 from Wilburton Public Schools.  She taught at Olney and Tupelo as well.  She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and was inducted into the Wilburton High School Alumni Teachers' Hall of Fame in 1992.  Preceding her in death were her husband Odis QUAID, her brother James A. FARRIS, Jr., her sister Marthel McLEAN.  She was born March 31, 1924 in Wardville to James A. and Grace FARRIS and married Odis Edward QUAID May 11, 1946 in Atoka, OK.

COSSEY
Billy Jackson COSSEY, 62, a retired minister, director of Tenn Challenge in Ft. Worth, TX and director of The Vinyard, also in Ft. Worth, died December 18 at the Arlington Central Medical Center.  Funeral services were held Thursday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.  Graveside service was at Fairview Cemetery in Denison, his wife's hometown.  Mr. COSSEY was born July 2, 1933 in Talihina.  He was a member of the New Life Assembly of God and a minister in the Tarrant County Jail in Ft. Worth.  He retired in 1979 due to poor health.
