December 9, 1999

BROWN
Lucille M. Brown, 79, died Tuesday in Manteca.
Mrs. Brown, born in Mico, Okla., on May 16, 1920, was a 39-year Manteca  resident.
She is survived by her daughters Joyce Young of Ore.,  and Pamela Ackerson of CA; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
P.L. Fry Son Chapel. Graveside services will be held at Park View Cemetery on Friday, Dec 10, P.L. Fry & Son is in charge of arrangements.

HUCKABY
Margarite Christine Bolton Huckaby, 79 died recently in Manteca.
Mrs. Huckaby, born on October 28, 1920, in Grandfield (formerly Eschita), Tillmon Co., Okla., was a Manteca resident for seven years.
She is survived by her children Lois Schweizer, Lynn Huckaby, and Ron, Stan, and Pat Huckaby; siblings Hazel McCollough and W.A. Bolton, Jr. of Okla., Oleta Moon of TX, J.L. Bolton of Ariz., Floyd Bolton of Ore., Bob Bolton of Texas, and Glenda Gray of New Mexico; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband T. L. Huckaby. Visitation at the P.L. Fray & Son Chapel and services will be held the following day in the same location at 10 a.m. Interment will be on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Fremont. P.L. Fry & Son is in charge of arrangements


December 16, 1999

BERG
Lorene BERG, 76, died Tuesday in Ripon.
Mrs. BERG, born on January 20, 1923, in Cache,  Comanche Co.,Okla., was a 27 year resident of Manteca/Ripon area.
She served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps from 1944 to 1946. She was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church of Modesto.
She is survived by her husband Donald BERG, children Laurie and Gary , siblings Robert Richardson and Edith Hughesm both of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be privately held. Remembrances may be sent to the Community Hospice Inc., 601 McHenry Ave., Modesto, CA 95350. Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


January 4, 2000

BYNUM
Mrs. BYNUM, 74, born in Oklahoma on Oct. 3, 1925, was a 60-year resident of Manteca. She was an active member of Oakdale Community Church.
She is survived by her husband Cleo; sons Richard and Michael; 4 grandchildren ; and  2 great-grandchildren .
She is preceded in death by her sister Wanda FERINI.
Services will be held at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel. Interment will take place at the San Joaquin National Cemetery.


December 30, 1999

FLOYD
Ms. Floyd, 51,  born on Jan. 22, 1948, in Marlow, Okla., was a Manteca resident for nine years.
She is survived by her ex-husband James Zeman; children Trudy Lynne and Marcy Lee; sisters Sharon, Carol and Paula ; and six grandchildren.
Services were held at Crossroads Grace Community Church in Manteca on Dec. 39. Interment will take place in Oklahoma. Park View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


January 19, 2000

LEE, Air Force veteran
William G. LEE, Jr., 71 died Jan. 12 in Manteca. Mr. LEE, born on May 16, 1928, in Ardmore, Okla., was a Manteca resident for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #80 in Ione.
He is survived by his wife Rogce Jean; sister Watona PIPER; son Robert E.LEE; and five  grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his sister Nancy PROUTY and son William E. LEE.
Park View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


January 26, 2000

DAVIS, U.S. Navy Veteran
Richard C. DAVIS, 67, died Jan. 18 in Modesto.
Mr. DAVIS, was born in Jessie, Okla., on Jan. 25, 1932, was a 10 year resident of Modesto and lived in the Lathrop area for five years prior to that. He served in the Navy fron 1952 to 1956.
He is survived by has brother Rufus DAVIS of Lathrop; sisters Lottie PENICK and Elnora SMILEY; daughter Paula DAVIS; and step-parents H.G.W. ARMSTRONG and family of Modesto.
Services and internment will be private. Park View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


February 1, 2000

Leslie "Red" HUNT
Foreman Leslie "Red" HUNT, 76, died Thursday in Stockton.
Mr. HUNT, born of July 12, 1923, in Oklahoma, was a three year resident of Manteca.
He is survived by his wife, Judith; daughters Sharon MARTIN and Cynthia MIRAFLOR; sibblings Dwain HUNT, Onice CRUM, Phyllis FARMER and Vera Sue CHITWOOD; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Park View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


February 3, 2000

CUMMINGS
Nonagenerian
Jewell R. CUMMINGS, 97, died Tuesday in Manteca.
Ms. CUMMINGS, born in Erick, Okla, on March 12, 1902, was a 13 year resident of Manteca.
She is survived by her children Flora STEWART and Edward TRACY; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Harold TRACY.
Visitation may be made Thursday, Feb 3, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the P.L. Fry & Son Chapel and services will be held the same day at the East Lawn Sierra Hills Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Sierra Hills Cemetery in Sacramento. P.L. Fry & Son is in charge of arrangements.
