Harvey C. Whitacre was born near Butlerville, Ohio, March 7, 1880. His father is a descendant of one of the early settlers of Warren County, who came from Virginia and settled near Morrow, Ohio. He received his early schooling at the Butlerville schools, and after graduating under the Boxwell law, in 1895, he attended the Blanchester high school, from which he graduated in the class of 1899. He afterwards attended the National Normal University from which he received the degree of Bachelor of Science, in 1901. Before he had completed his last year in the Scientific course of this institution, he was elected principal of his home school at Butlerville. He is now teaching in the Lebanon public schools. |
