      "A 21 year-old Franklin area  youth was reported Tuesday to have died in Vietnam this past Friday. The death brought the total of area servicemen killed in Vietnam to eight.
      Funeral services are incomplete at the Riggs Funeral Home in Middletown pending the arrival home of the body of Army Specialist Four Kenneth Lee Perry of 3821 South Dixie Highway, near Franklin.
      Specialist Perry was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn F. Perry. He was reported killed in action last Friday, but no details were given.
      The young man was born and raised in Middletown. He attended Wilson Elementary School and Roosevelt Junior High School.
      Young Perry attended Miami University at Oxford prior to his induction into the Army in May, 1968. A year later, he was serving as a rifleman with the Fifth Battalion, 12th Infantry, 199th Infantry Brigade.
      Survivors of the youth include his parents, a brother James, of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Dale Martin of Springboro; his maternal grandfather, Robert Bisset of Middletown; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Perry of Middletown."
