Know ye, that Alfred Thomas a private of
Captain Oliver Parshalls, Company (F) 35th
Ohio Foot Volunteers, who was enrolled on the 5th day of Sept 1861 to serve
three years or during the war is hereby discharged from the service of the United
States, this 8th day of Sept. 1864, by reason of experation of term.
Said Alfred Thomas was born Adams County,
in the state of Penn., is 43 years of age, 5 feet 7 1/2 inches high, florid
complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, and by occupation when ienrilled a sadler.
Given at Chattanoga, Tenn., this 8th day of Sept. 1864.

Alfred THOMAS' [and all of Co. F's] mustering
officer was 1st Lieutenant William G. WEDEMEYER, 16th U.S.
Infantry, Asst. Commissary of Musters, D.C. My g-grandfather, Pvt. Martin SAUM, of Co. C of the 35th OVI married Mary Eleanor THOMAS at Seven Mile in Butler County in 1865. Her brother was named Alfred Abraham THOMAS [b. 07 Oct 1850 in Butler Co.]. Her father, William Boyd THOMAS, was born in Hamilton, Butler, OH on 03 Oct 1826. His father, John Hardmann THOMAS, was one year old when his parents [unknown] moved from PA to Butler County in 1801. Do you know if there is any more bio info on private Alfred Thomas and if there is any possible connection with the Butler CountyThomas'? |
