Testimony in 1871 by James Johnston:
"started from Warren County, Ohio at the time above stated and marched to Dayton Ohio and from thence to St. Maries and from thence to the crossing of St. Maries River and awaited until Gen. Harrison arrived with the troops under his command and then marched to Fort Wayne and was there discharged."
