DIED—On the 28th of December last of cholera, near San Francisco, Peter Van Liew, aged about 31 (or 51) years. The deceased was a citizen of Red Lion and vicinity for several years previous to going to California—the last five years as clerk in the store of J. S. Todd. He was much respected by his employer and by all others with whom he was acquainted. He was of strict moral character, and a warm friend of the cause of temperance. He leaves a wife and many other friends and neighbors to mourn their loss.
