A Sad Case of Suicide. Mason. Aug. 17. - Enos Wilson, a prominent and highly respected farmer, within two miles of this place, committed suicide by shooting himself through the head. A Coroner's inquest failed to elicit any particular cause for the rash act; but that it was premeditated is evident from the fact that he had purchased a two ounce vial of laudarum yesterday, which he accidentally broke in his piocket, and when he was asked what it was he replied it was medicine. He purchased it at the drug-store of C. H. Brown & Brother, of this place. Mr. Wilson had just purchased a farm, and had been engaged repairing fences and ditches until today. His young wife is entirely prostrated, and grave fears are entertained for her recovery from the shock. Mr. Wilson served with some distinction during the late war, and received a serious wound at the battle of Stone River. - Cincinnati Entuirer. Source: The Miami Gazette,

John
Lafayette Wilson (1828-1889) Copy from the Obituary Collection at the Warren County Genealogical Society Death of Judge J. L. Wilson Judge John L. Wilson, one of our most prominent county citizens and a gentleman widely and favorably known in legal, political and social circles throughout Southern Ohio and Indiana, died at his home in Morrow, at half-past nine o'clock last Saturday night of apoplexy. Less than hour prior to his death he addressed a citizens' meeting assembled at the Mayor's office in that place, upon the subject of the proposed issuance of county bonds, and was apparently in his usual health and vigor. Five minutes after his return home, while seated in a chair conversing with members of his family he passed almost instantly and without a struggle from life to death. Judge Wilson was an upright man, honest and fearless in his convictions, an able jurist, a kind husband and father and a good citizen. That is epitaph sufficient. His widow and six surviving children have the earnest sympathy of the community in their great sorrow. The funeral will take place to-day at 1 p.m. The Masonic Lodge of which he was an honored member will participate in the funeral ceremonies. Source: The Western Star, Lebanon,
