Miss Johanna Taylor, 79, of 618 Anderson Street, Franklin, died Sunday morning at Southview Hospital, Dayton, where she had been a patient for eight weeks.
Miss Taylor was one of 16 children born to Robert Wilson Taylor and Roseanna Jordan,members of a well known pioneer Franklin family. She lived all her life in Franklin and occupied the family home on Anderson Street since it was built in 1921 by family members, up until the time of her death. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Franklin. She was a member of the Pollyanna Class: Day Women's Mission Circle; 60 Plus or Minus Club and American Legion Auxiliary.
As a girl she worked in her fathers electric shop during summer vacations. Her first full time employment was at the Hamilton Hotel at 25 Third Street (later known as The Bomberger Hotle) and then she worked for 40 years at the Miami Valley Coated Paper Mill Co. until her retirement in 1964.
She was one of the first students to attend the new Franklin High School on 6th street, after its construction in 1921.
Her survivors include three brothers, Robert and William, both of Franklin; Don of Middletown; and five sisters; Mrs Betty Berger; Mrs Robin Scholl; Mrs Jane Myers; Miss Roseanna Taylor, all of Franklin and Mrs Mary Allison of West Carrollton.
Services will be held today, Wedensday, at 10 am at First Baptist Church
Franklin with the Rev Marvin Strom officiating. Burial will be in the
Woodhill Cemetery. All arrangements were by Unglesby Funeral Home.
