Hannah Simpson

Obituary.

Mrs. Hannah Simpson was born in Shropshire, England, in March, 1825 and died at Athens, May 28, 1895, aged seventy years and two months. The cause of her death was an attack of grip, which so affected her mentally, that she was certified to the Athens asylum for the insane, where she failed steadily till death came to her release.

Mrs. Simpson grew to womanhood in her native land and came to this country in 1863, since which time her life has been spent in this and Clinton counties. She was the mother of four sons, three of whom survive her. The funeral services were held at Roachester and were conducted by Rev. Mr. Warner, of the Morrow Methodist church, Mrs. Simpson having been a faithful MEthodist since her union with that church over sixty years ago.

Mrs. Simpson was kind and pleasant in her demeanor, a faithful friend to the sick and the needy and a patient and uncomplaining sufferer in illness. Her death is widely mourned and the family have deep and earnest sympathy in their bereavement.
