RITES WEDNESDAY" FOR A. J. Scheurer
Was Morrow Bank President Many Years, Headed Cannery
Albert J. Scheurer, aged 87, president of the First
National Bank of Morrow for more than 20 years, died of a heart ailment
Saturday night at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. He had been confined
to the hospital since Thursday. Widely known throughout southwestern Ohio,
he headed the Morrow Canning Company for many years. Prominent in civic
affairs he was a member of the Morrow Presbyterian Church. Mr. Scheurer
was a life-long resident of Morrow and Warren County.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p. m. at Vale Funeral Home in
Morrow in charge of the Rev. Benjamin S. Woodruff, of
the Mowrystown Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Morrow
Cemetery.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Carrie Smith of Morrow, with
whom he made his home.,

Mr. Scheurer was the president of the First National Bank of Morrow for a time. He was a signer on the 1929 series of national currency issued by the bank. I purchased one of the only 2 surviving $5 notes recently, which is why I was researching him." - Albert John Scheurer Ohio Death Certificate, State File No. 23567 (1949) lists his birth on 26 Oct 1816 in Morrow, Ohio to John Scheurer and Barbar Keller. It indicates that he never married.
- According to the 1910 census for Morrow, Warren County, Ohio, his father immigrated from Germany in 1854 and his mother immigrated from Germany in 1852.
