RHEA GRACE ROGERS
Rhea Grace, second daughter of Charles H. and Hannah Irvins Rogers, was born near Waynesville, Ohio, September 25, 1887, and died at Lebanon, Ohio, January 4, 1908, aged 20 years 3 months and 10 days.
While yet too young to appreciate an earthly parent’s care, her father died leaving the mother with two young children to meet life’s battles.
Valiantly and well did the young mother struggle to give her daughter all of the education that the local schools afforded. Rhea graduated from the Waynesville High School in the class of 1905 and soon after entered the summer term at Lebanon University. She was the same year elected teacher of the school at the Warren County Children’s Home and so satisfactory was her work that she was twice reelected; the latter time at an increased salary.
In July of last year she was stricken with typhoid fever, from the effects of which she never recovered, but after weeks and months of patient endurance, when the hours were heralding the approach of another day God called and a great soul returned to Him.
