PFc. Carl Moore Casualty in Asiatic Theater, Lon Allen Hurt.
A Kings Mills soldier has been reported killed in action and a Waynesville Marine wounded in action according to word received this week by relatives of the men.
The War Department Saturday notified Miss Emma Moore of Kings Mills that her brother, Pfc. Carl Moore, had been killed in action in the Asiatic war theater. A truck driver in the Quartermaster Corps, he enlisted in the service February 27, 1943.
Pfc. Moore attended Kings Mills high school and was formerly enployed at Cline's store in Kings Mills.
Survivors include four sisters, Emma and Frances, employes of Remington Arms, with whom he made his home; Mrs. Bethel McIntyre of Kings Mills; Mrs. Lita Mae Baker of Kentucky and a brother, Willie Moore of Mason.

Military Rites for Carl Moore
Military funeral services in charge of Veterans of Foreign Wars were held
Saturday at Tufts Funeral Home in Loveland for Pfc. Carl Moore,
20, who was killed in India on Feb. 29, 1944 while serving in the Quartermaster
Corps. Burial was in Mason
Cemetery.
Pfc. Moore attended Kings Mills ____ was employed at Allis-Chalmers Company
at Norwood.
Surviving are his brother and four sisters.

PFC DEXTER MOORE
...missing in action.
Word has been received here by Mrs. Robert Woods of East Main Street,
that her brother, Pfc, Dexter Moore, 19, has been missing in action in
Korea since December 1. He served with the 24th
Infantry Division
and was in the armed forces for three years. He is the son of Mrs.
Mary Jane Stamper, North Broadway, and attended Kings Mills school.

Mrs. Mary Anna Fairchild Moore
MORROW - Mrs. Mary Anna Fairchild Moore, 75, of Morrow, died at 1:15
p.m. yesterday at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington.
The widow of James W. Moore, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mattie
Bradley of Hamilton and Mrs. Emily Jones of Lebanon; three sons, O. B.
Moore of Cincinnati, Walter of New Burlington and Henry F. Moore of Morrow;
a sister, Mrs. Mattie Perry of White Lake, Wis; three brothers, W. N.
Fairchild of Gibson City, Ill, and Fred and B. B. Fairchild, both of Waynesville;
eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Fisher Funeral Home Wilmington,
with burial in New Burlington cemetery. Friends may call at the
funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
