Death of Matthew Hueston. Died, at Union Village, on Friday
the 18th inst., Matthew Heuston, in the 84th year of his age. Mr. H. was
at the time of his conversion to the faith of the Society
of Shakers, a Presbyterian clergyman. He united with the Society at
Union Village at an early period of
its organization and has occupied a prominent place in its ministry till
within a few years past, when the infirmities of age have prevented his
participating in the more public exercises of its duties. He was a strong
minded, plain spoken man, and always enjoyed the reputation of saying
what he believed. |
