Curtis Jackson Hollon

FRANKLIN MAN FATALLY HURT IN COLLISION

Curtis Jackson “Jack” Hollon, 28, of East Second St., Franklin, was killed in an automobile accident Wednesday at 11:30 p.m., on Highway 123, one mile east of Franklin, when a car driven by Oscar H. Egleston, 17, of Franklin Route 1, struck a telephone pole and crashed through a fence.

Hollon was rushed to Franklin by ambulance, but was dead on arrival. He suffered a skull fracture.

Eunice Tewell, 16, of Lake Ave., Franklin, also a passenger in the car, suffered a broken right arm and was taken to Middletown Hospital. Egleston was not injured.

According to reports the three were returning from a weiner roast at the home of Chester Frazier. Egleston was driving west on the highway when he apparently lost control of the car.

Hollon, who was scheduled for induction into the army next Monday, was employed as driver of an oil truck for Blair and Leroy Co., Franklin.

He leaves his widow, Mary; three children, Jackie, Janet and Jimmy, his mother, Mrs. Laura Hollon, one brother, John, of Franklin, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Baker of Springboro.

Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the First Baptist church, with the Rev. H. S. Gessner officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Robert Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Second St., Franklin.
