On March 31st, our aged sister, Lucy Dennis, departed this
life, aged eighty-three years and three months. She was one of the first
to become an inmate of our institution having been brought here when but
an infant. She has been a believer over eighty years and was always industrious
and faithful in the discharge of her duties. Doubtless she is enjoying
the fruits of her labors in that land of rest and peace, "Where the
wicked cease from troubling and the weary ar at rest." At her funeral
it was testified that she was a lover of children and young persons and
very kind and patronizing to any whom she thought to be in trouble. Also
that she kindly lent her sympathies in acts and deeds as well as thought
to persons coming in amongst us from without. The exhortation from all
this is, "Let us go and do likewise."
