The State of Ohio Warren County, Court of Common Please(sic) of the term of November A.D. 1834

Thomas Hathaway by his next friend Francis Dunlavy, vs John Hathaway, William Van Hickle and Rebecca his wife, Thomas Ferquher and Phebe his wife, Rhoda Hathaway, James Atkinson and Eliza his wife, Charles Hathaway, Nancy Hathaway, Allen Wright, and Elizabeth Hathaway.

The petitioner having heretofore filed in said court his petition praying the Court to order that partition be made of the real estate of Ephraim Hathaway deceased and that dower be set of to his widow and the said court having decreed a sale of said real estate at the above term John M. Williams the administrator of the said Ephraim Hathaway deceased having filed in said court his cross bill stating in substance that the personal estate of the said Ephraim will be insufficient to satisfy the debts due from his estate, and praying the Court to order that so much of the proceeds of said real estate as shall be sufficient be applied to the payment of said debts and it appearing to the Court that Charles Hathaway, and Nancy Hathaway, reside out of the state of Ohio it is therefore ordered by the Court that notice of the pendency of this suit be given by publication according to the statute &c. NOTICE of the pendency of said suite its herefore hereby given to said nonresident defendents and that the same will stand for further order at the next term of said Court. J.K. WILDS, Clk. YOUNG MEN'S TEMPERANCE MEETING

At a public meeting held at the town Hall in the town of Lebanon on the evening of 28th of November 1834, for the purpose of forming a Young Men's Temperance Society, a large and highly respectable number of young Ladies and Gentlemen were in attendance. Whereupon on a motion being made, Edward R. Roe was called in the chair, and Richard M. Ross was appointed secretary. On motion, it was resolved, that a committee to consist of five persons should be appointed by the chair to draft a constitution for the government of the society, and to report at the next meeting. Whereupon the following named gentlemen, were nominated by the chair on said Committee, John Probasco Jr. Franklin Corwin, Simon Suydam, Harvey Brown and Richard M. Ross. On motion, it was resolved that a speaker should be elected for the purpose of addressing the society on New Years evening, whereupon, John Probasco Jr. was uninimously chosen Principal, and Harvey Brown his alternate. On a motion being made for the purpose of instructing said committee, to draft a constitution & introduce an article, requiring the members to abstain from the use of all spirituous and fermented liquors, a lengthy and animated discussion took place. After which the sense of the meeting being taken, the Committee were instructed to insert an article to that effect. Thereupon the meeting adjourned to meet at the Town Hall on Tuesday evening 10th December. EDWARD R. ROE, Pres't. RICHARD M, ROSS Sec'y Lebanon Nov 28th 1834.



Taken up by Thomas Ballard a residence of Rochester, Salem township, Warren county, Ohio, a dark Brown Horse colt, with a blaze face and under lip white, all of his feet white nearly to the knees; supposed to be one year old last spring. Appraised at twelve dollars and fifty cents by Milton S. Gaskill and Theodore Lea?. A true copy from my stray book. W.S. MICKLE, j. p. Dec 2d 1834



STRAYS By virtue of an order to us directed by James B. Edwards a justice of the peace of Wayne township in Warren county we the undersigned do certify that we have viewed and appraised a certain stray mare taken up by Thomas M. Wales of said township and the same to be a Chestnut Sorrel Mare, no marks or brands perceivable about fifteen hands high, supposed to be three years old last spring; a natural trotter, and we do appraise said mare at thirty dollars, this 19th November 1834 Edward Hatten, Joseph Lukins. I do hereby certify that the above is a true copy from my estray book. JAMES B. EDWARDS. j. p. Nov. 20, 1834.



Stone Cutting ANDREW VINSON Very respectfully informs the citizen of Lebanon and the surrounding county that he has established the above business in all its various orders in the town of Lebanon. He will furnish TOMB STONES of every order or description at the shortest ? on the most reasonable terms. In a word, orders from a distance or from the vicinity will meet the most prompt attention with all the requisitions in the stone cutting department. Lebanon 1st Dec. 1834



FOUR DOLLARS REWARD Pocket Book Lost

About the middle of last month (November) the subscribes, a resident of Union township, Warren county, lost a small pocket book containing two bank bills one on the Dayton bank the other not recollected of one dollar each, and two notes of hand, one for $60 on Mephiniah Jennings made payably to Mary Johnston, the other for $17.62 on Hugh Johnston. The pocket book is supposed to have been lost some where between the residence of the subscriber and Bridgeport, in the same township. The above reward will be paid for the return of the pocket book and its contents as specified above. THOMAS JOHNSTON December 5th 1834
