Since our last communication there have occurred
many interesting events.
Rev. O. H. Denny and Miss Irene Lambert were quietly married on last Monday morning, at the residence of the bride's father, one and one half miles east, of this village. They departed on the early train for Rio Grande, Gallia County, Ohio, to visit the groom's brother, and enjoy their honeymoon. They have the best wishes of the community for their future happiness. Mr. D. can truly sing, "This is the way I long have sought," &c. Miss Callie Shawhan has returned from a visit with friends in Cincinnati. Miss Stella Hizar, who has been quite ill for the past week with typhoid pneumonia is now convalescing. Mr. John Ward and wife, of Harveysburg burg, spent Sunday with Mr. Jesse Urton and family. Mr. Harry Shawhan has rented him a farm near Fort
Ancient, and I presume will want a housekeeper. Now, girls, I would
advise some of you to take the advantage of "leap year," and
pop the question, for so amiable a young man is seldom found in this part
of the country. |
