Fifty years ago the third of next month Mr. James McGervey, sr., was united in marriage to Miss Caroline Brown, of Warren County, and for fifty years this happy couple has lived in this city, and all this time on the lot they now live on, and for the past thirty six years in the house in which they now reside. They have raised a family of honest, enterprising children, three sons being first class business men in our city, and their daughters being happily married. As the 3d of August this year comes on Sabbath. they will celebrate their anniversary on the Tuesday following, August 5th at which there will be a grand family reunion of friends and relatives. - Xenia Gazette.
Mrs. McGervey has two sisters living in Lebanon, Mrs. Catharine Koogle and Mrs. Joseph Jameson, the former of whom celebrated a similar event last August. Of this family of six sisters, all living, two have already enjoyed their golden wedding anniversaries, and two more expect to do so this year.
