8 Sep 1808 Warranty Deed from Ichabod Corwin of Warren County to Lewis Drake of Warren County
152 Acres, part of Sec 25 Twp 4 East Range 4 North, Turtlecreek Twp

This indenture made this eighth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight between Ichabod Corwin of the County of Warren and State of Ohio of the one part and Lewis Drake of the County of Warren and State of Ohio aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Ichabod Corwin for and in consideration of the sum of $450 dollars current money of the United State to him in ham paid the receipt where of he doth hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the Said Lewis Drake his heirs Executors and administrators hath Granted bargained sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth Grant bargain Sell alien and confirm unto the Said Lewis Drake his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Warren and State of Ohio and in Section No. 25 T. four Range four, Beginning at the Northwest corner of Said Section thence South 30 minutes East One hundred poles and 1/10 to a post thence north 88 degrees 53 East two hundred and 39 1/10 poles to a post thence North 30 minutes west one hundred and four 1/10 poles to a post, thence South 88 " 45 West two hundred and 39 1/10 poles to the place of beginning containing one hundred and fifty two acres and 116 poles - together with all improvements water courses profits and appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises belonging or any wise appertaining and the Revisions Remainders and profits thereof and all the Estate Right title interest property Claim and demand of him the said Ichabod Corwin of in and to the Same To have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises and every part and parcel thereof with every of the appurtenances unto the said Lewis Drake his heirs and assigns forever. And the Said Ichabod Corwin for himself and for his heirs executors and administrators doth Covenant promise and agree to and with the Said Lewis Drake and his heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises before mentioned now are and forever hereafter Shall Remain free of and from all forms and all other gifts grants bargains sales dower Right and title of dower Judgments Executors titles ______ charges and incumbrances whatsoever done or Suffered to be done by him the Said Ichabod Corwin. and the Said Ichabod Corwin and his heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargain and sold with the appurtenances unto the Said Lewis Drake his heirs and assigns against him the Said Ichabod Corwin and his heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever doth and will warrant and forever defend by these presents, In testimony where of him the Said Ichabod Corwin and Sarah his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

Notes:
This land bordered on the Lebanon-Waynesville Pike, which is now Rte 42. Lewis sold off a number of parcels along the road between 1813 and 1817 which nearly recouped his initial investment. These parcels were the beginning of what is now known as the unincorporated village of Genntown.

NW Quarter of Section 8 Township 3 East Range 4 North in Turtlecreek Twp

James Madison President of the United States of America, To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know Ye that Lewis Drake of Warren County having deposited in the Treasury a certificate of the Register of the land office at Cincinnati whereby it appears that full payment has been made for the North West quarter of Section Eight of Township three in range four lying between the Miami rivers of the land directed to be sold at Cincinnati by the act of Congress entitled, An act providing for the sale of the lands of the United States in the Territory north west of the Ohio and above the mouth of Kentucky river and of the acts amendatory of the same There is granted by the United States unto the said Lewis Drake the qr lot or section of land above described: To have and to hold the said Quarter lot or section of land with the appurtenances unto the said Lewis Drake his heirs and assigns forever. In testimony where of I have caused these letters to be made Patent and the seal of the General Land office to be hereunto affixed : Given under my hand at the City of Washington

the twentieth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve and of the Independence of the United States of America the thirty seventh.

Lewis & Mary Drake sold this 181 acre & 30 square pole parcel for $3,985 to John Lincoln on 26 Aug 1820 (Vol. 9 page 292).
Two years later, Lewis Drake would marry John Lincoln's daughter, Rachel Lincoln (1790-1840). They had one son together, Dr. Isaac Lincoln Drake (1823-1891)

35 Acres part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 4, Range 4 for $330

This indenture, made this fourteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord, on [sic] thousand eight hundred and fifteen between Samuel Yaman of the County of Warren and State of Ohio of the one part and Lewis Drake of the County of Warren and State aforesaid, of the other part Witnesseth that the said Samuel Yaman for and Consideration of the sum of Three hundred and thirty Dollars, current Money of the United States, to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and forever acquit & discharge the said Lewis Drake his heirs executors & administrators hath granted bargained sold Aliened and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Lewis Drake his heirs and Assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Warren and State aforesaid, and being a part of Section Number twenty six in the fourth township and fourth Range, between the Miami rivers Beginning at the south west Corner of said Section, thence N. 1° degree W. 26 poles and 30/100 of a pole thence N. 86° 43' E 47 poles, thence N. 1° W. 10 poles-then N. 86° 43' E 120 25/100 poles thence S 1° E 36 30/100 poles, thence N. 1° W. 10 poles-thence N. 86° 43' E 120 25/100 poles thence S. 1° E 36 30/100 poles, thence S. 8° 43" W 167 25/100 poles to the place of beginning containing Thirty five acres strict Measure, Together with all improvements, water courses profits and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the reversions remainders and profits thereof and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand of him the said Samuel Yaman of in and to the same, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, the lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises and every part & parcel thereof, with every of the appurtenances unto the said Lewis Drake his heirs and assigns forever, to the only proper use and behalf of him the said Lewis Drake his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Samuel Yaman, for his heirs executors & administrators doth covenant promise & agree to and with the said Lewis Drake his heirs and assigns by these presents, that the premises before Mentioned now are and forever hereafter shall remain free of and from all former and all other gifts grants bargains sales, dowers right and title of dower, Judgments executions, titles troubles charges & incumberances whatsoever done or suffered to be done, by him the said Samuel Yaman - and the said Samuel Yaman, and his heirs all and Singular, the premises hereby granted bargained & Sold with the appurtenances unto the Lewis Drake, his heirs and assigns against him the said Samuel Yaman, and his heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever doth and will warrant for ever defend by these presence, In Witness whereof he the said Samuel Yaman & Pricilla his Wife, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above Written.
