The State of Ohio, Warren County, ss.
To All Who Shall see These Presents, Greeting:
Know Ye, That on the 2d day of October, Anno Domini 1866 at a
PROBATE COURT, held at the Probate Office, in Lebanon, in and for the
County of Warren, and State of Ohio, personally came
John Allison,
an Alien, and native of Scotland
and filed his Petition to become a citizen of the United States, under
and by virtue of an act of Congress, authorizing Aliens who have been
honorably discharged from the United
States Army to become citizens therof, approved July 17, 1862, who
proved to the satisfaction of the Court that he has resided in the United
State for at least one year, that he has been honorably discharged from
the Army of the United States and that he has behaved as a man of good
moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the
United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the
same, and having fully complied with the Laws of the United States, in
relation to the Naturalization of Aliens, the said
John Allison
on being admitted by this Court, took the oath to support the Constitution
of the United States of America, and to ABSOLUTELY AND ENTIRELY
RENOUNCE AND ABJURE all allegiance and fidelity to every Foreign Prince,
Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to
Victoria Queen of Great Britain Ireland & Scotland whose subject he
was.
This is, therfore, to Certify, That the said John Allison
is admitted a citizen of the Unites States.
In Testimony Wherof, I have hereunto subscribed my name officially, and
affixed the seal of said Court at [seal date and name of Judge not
