Hannah M. Schenck daughter of John and Ann Schenck died Aug. 24, 1850 aged 13 years 4 months & 26 days She has gone and left here below to morn her loss with grief but God is just. We must be still Fathers will 14 Apr 2911 Jay G. Lamb email: "Hazel Phillips told me where Unity Cem. is located and I visited it years before the stones were placed into the current concrete formation. John R. Schenck married second to Ann Lamb, dau of Joseph Lamb and Ruth Scudder. The following are my notes concerning their daughter, Hannah Maria Schenck. Jay John R. Schenck 3 Dec. 1849 - OCP 90 #7 Hannah Maria, age 12 Y - 28 Mar. 1849 Guardian - Anthony Keever (Guardianships 1803-1915 Probate Court, Warren Co., OH, Cardinal Research, Pg 220) Note: This indicates that she was b 28 Mar. 1837 which differs by one day from the computer calculated birth date based on the gravestone inscription. Hannah S. Schenck 13 OH (1850 Census, Butler Co., OH, Liberty Twp., Pg 313) Note: The computer calculated birth date is 29 Mar. 1837." |

Sacred to the memory of John R. Schenck who departed this life May 27, 1846 aged 46 years 1 month 5 days Judy Simpson 16 Jun 2012 email pointed out the typo on the year of death which has been corrected from 1841 to 1846. She also provided the following: "Rose Marie Springman, Around Mason, Ohio: A Story (Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio: C. J. Krehbiel Co., 1982), p. 22. "Elizabeth Linn Schenck died on May 30 at the age of 35 and was buried at Unity Cemetery. Her husband, John R. Schenck, lived another eleven years and then was buried at her side. On his tombstone was inscribed the verse: "Tis finished, the conflict is past, The heaven born spirit is fled, His wish is accomplished at last, He now is entombed with the dead." |

5 Feb 2008, Christine Fleming of Gainesville, Florida writes, "Caroline White, daughter of Thomas & Sarah White (my ancestors). Date of birth for Caroline was Oct. 20, 1816 and she died December 05, 1834 at 18 years. She was unmarried." 30 May 2009, Tiffany Topper writes, " I may have found some of the Caroline White stone. While looking around the wooded area behind the momument i stumbled upon a broken stone that said Caroline. " |
