George Knox
died Jan. 6, 1826
aged 87 years 21 days

[Revolutionary War Veteran]
[worn stone - age has also ben read as 7 years 21 days]
Diane Griffin 22 Sep 2012 email
"George Knox is assumed to be the father of Esther Knox (1762-1850). I say assumed because I have no solid proof. Esther's mother has not been discovered. Esther married Findley Russell (1752-1825) in colonial America or possibly Ohio. The place and year not established. It seems Esther and Findley were Scots-Irish born in the Ulster area. The above information was found in the deceased estate of Orisa Fox Hayner, a Russell descendent. Sadly, she did not record her sources.
Is there a record of who purchased George's grave? Findley's will has been found and he had a tombstone, but there is no sign of where he was laid to rest. Esther Russell is buried in Springboro Cemetery.
