GEORGE VANDOREN, farmer; P. O. Clarksville’ fourth son of William and Athalina Vandoren, was born in this township, Aug 31, 1842. He lived on his father’s farm till Aug. 16, 1863, when he enlisted as a soldier in Company D, 2d Regiment |

he served in the Army of the Cumberland till August, 1865; he received his
honorable discharge; he returned home and was married, March 16, 1866, to
Lizzie Vandervoort, born in Massie Township, May 4, 1842;
she is a daughter of Paul
and Elizabeth Vandervoort; they have six children, viz., Anna
M., Maurice P., William M., Rosalie
L., Mary E. and Zepas G. (Twins).
Mr. V. and family are connected with the Baptist Church.
Mr. V. owns a farm of 74 ½ acres, and in politics, is Republican |
