The township of Franklin has a cemetery which was founded by private enterprise, and, until a few years ago, was kept up by the stock company, when, finding themselves embarrassed, they gave it up to the Township Trustees. They have paid great attention to beautifying this city of the dead. During the past year, they have built a vault, erected a dam across a stream in the low lands and constructed a lake, thus rendering Woodland [sic] Cemetery as pleasant looking as any cemetery in the country.
