John HAYS married Adaline NEBLOCK in Guernsey co., Ohio and moved to McArthur, Vinton co., about 1840. Her sister, Jane NEBLOCK married Samuel MCKEE in Guernsey co., Ohio 1848 and moved to Vinton co. to be with her sister. They lived there until about 1860 and both families maved to South Homer Twp., Champaign co., Ill. where they finished out their lives. Would appreciate any information about these families! George FREEMAN was in Manchester Township, Morgan Co., Ohio, on the 1850 Federal Census of Ohio. His parents, Daniel and Mahala FREEMAN, moved to Vinton Co. Daniel died abt. 1853 according to probate and his will. George FREEMAN, 25 yrs., was living in Vinton Co., Richland Twp., Allensville, Ohio, on the 1860 Federal Census of Ohio. He continued to live in this area until his death in in possibly Newark, Ohio, abt 1914. He was married 4 times. His 2nd wife was Hester Catherine LEACH. We assume he married her in Vinton Co. Hester was possibly born in Jackson Co., Ohio, the daughter of Emanuel LEACH and Rachel.

My great grand father was Alexander S. BABB and my great grandmother was Maria GRAVES. They were married in Vinton County in 1878. They are buried in Brown Chaple Cemetary in Clarksburg, Ross County. My grandmother, Ida BABB was their daughter. I know Robert BABB, who owned a farm in Eagle Twp. was Alexander's father and Elisabeth was his mother but I don't know Elisabeth's family or where they came from. Also, I don't know Robert's family history. I know Maria's parent's were William and Catherine GRAVES. They also owned a farm in Eagle Twp. but I don't know anyting else about them. I know there many Babbs and Graves in Vinton County and I am hoping someone may be able to fill in the blanks.

MCGLOTHLIN, Jr. m. to Josephine ANDERSON in 1859, had 10 kids, son JOHN is my line. He married Esther FREEMAN, dau of Sanford FREEMAN and Mary Francis MCKENZIE, dau of Aaron Mathew and Mary Ellen STROUD. Aaron son of Jonathon MCKENZIE and Sarah MATTINGLY.

I have no leads on finding out any more about the line of my gr-grandmother Sarah Amanda SHORT who married my gr-grandfather, Edgar Benjamin ROBBINS. They lived in Vinton County. She was born in 1861 and died in 1928. Her father's name was William SHORT and that is all I know. Any help to shed more light on her line would be greatly appreciated.

ROSS SR. 2nd wife was---Mary E. SULLIVAN) married 1894 Lawerance County,Ohio.----Live in Wayne County W.Va. after they married.--- Also in their household was Niece --Adeline ROSBROCK born 1892. Francis M. ROSS born 1837 here in Vinton Co, might of been Cherokee Indain. Francis M. ROSS Sr, was in Civil War in 12th Ohio Calvery and had left hip injury while in Service. SON----Francis M. ROSS Jr, born 1864 married Nora SULLIVAN 1897 in Wayne County, W.Va.
