For several years I have been seeking a death certificate for my Great-Great Grandmother Perlina Jane HALE buried in the Dundas area (near MacArthur Ohio). The cemetery is named Beard. Being a wife of a Civil War veteren, her funeral and burial was paid by the Vinton County commissioners. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions where her death certificate may be located. It is not in the probate court records at the County courthouse.

I am searching for parents/ancestors of Samuel GREGG, b. 11/11/1823 or 24 in Ross Co OH. I understand that at one time that part of what is now Ross Co., was Vinton Co. Samuel GREGG first married Eliza Jane GOODNIGHT April 1844, Ross Co OH. A number of the Greggs were living in the Ross/Vinton Co areas in the early to mi-1800's so sorting out "who belongs to whom" has been difficult. Am trying to also connect Samuel GREGG with his siblings. He moved to MO after his marriage to Eliza Jane. After her death (before 1850), he married Olive COX. Think that the Cox's may also have been in OH near where Samuel Gregg's family lived. Any leads will be appreciated.

William Talley SHADES was born in McArthur, OH 11 Jan 1844 to Margaret Talley SIMMONS and Frank (Francis E.) SHADES of Ohio. Charlotte may be the daughter of Lucy Ann SUDLOW and Chester FRENCH according to Lucy's obit notice 28 Feb 1885 that a daughter (married William SHADES) was a survivor. Lucy died in Vinton Co, OH. Her father's obit in 1905 said she was then living in Hamden [Hambden], Vinton Co, Ohio. Her mother, Harriet TRUMAN -HAYDEN b abt 1825 Deleware Co, NY died 1 May 1876 in Munson, Geauga, OH. Her siblings were: Cynthia A. HAYDEN -LONG; Almeda HAYDEN; Martha Alice HAYDEN-RUSH, and Lyman Austin WOODARD -HAYDEN. Her brother Lyman had been adopted and was known as Austin HAYDEN. He was actually named Lyman Austin WOODARD at birth on 11 Feb 1857 in Munson,Geauga Co, OH. He was one of the 8 or 9 children born to Wilson WOODARD & Silala TRUMAN (my gr-gr-grandparents). Mary FUNK married Isaac GEORGE in 1866 and they resided in Jackson Twp, Vinton County. I suspect Mary's parents were Joseph and Sarah Miller FUNK, dying in 1840-1850 and 1839-1840, respectively, in Falls Twp, Hocking County. Insight or correction is appreciated! Isaac and Mary had among their children William Ansel GEORGE in approximately 1869. Vinton County records show he applied himself for a marriage license for himself and Dolly BROWN in 1898, they married within that week. Unfortunately there are two Sarah BROWNs at about this time, apparently Dolly was a nickname. One Sarah BROWN was of family of Daniel E. and Sarah M. BROWN in Jackson twp, on same page in 1880 census as Isaac's family including William Ansel GEORGE. That census indicates she was born in 1876. Another Sarah BROWN was of family of Thomas J and Mary A. BROWN of Falls twp, Hocking County, apparently born 1877 per that census. Later censuses show My Great grandmother to have been born in 1877. Once married Sarah and William resided in Starr Twp, Hocking County. Did he marry his neighbor or marry a Hocking County girl and agree to live in a different twp, from what either had before? (or maybe someone else not in area in 1880?)
