I am still looking for descendents of Henry, Sr. and Mayme SPRAGUE of McArthur, Ohio. My dad, Henry SPRAGUE, Jr. was 1 of about 13 children born to this family. I have met a couple of family members on the list, but I know there have got to be more out there as large as this part of the family is. Here is a description from the book Vinton County Ohio History and Families, page 78 ..."Mary Alice SPRAGUE CHATFIELD, youngest child of Lafayette and Phoebe PLETCHER SPRAGUE, was born in McArthur on 7 Nov 1891. Henry SPRAGUE of Hamden, and Ernest SPRAGUE, of McArthur, were the other children of this marriage who survived to adulthood......Lafayette SPRAGUE, son of Leander and Isabelle MCCONNELL SPRAGUE, was born in 1855 in McArthur. Leander SPRAGUE was born in 1815 in new Bedford, Massachusetts, and migrated to Vinton County before 1840. Isabelle MCCONNELL, born in 1817 near McArthur was the daughter of William and Susannah MORROW MCCONNELL. William MCCONNELL was born in 1794 near Circleville, Ohio and Susannah MORROW was born in 1797 in Greenbriar County, Virginia." If anyone has information regarding this line, I would appreciate it.

I am tracing the ancestory of John CLARK b: 8 may 1798 NC d: 25 Dec 1870, m: Ruth DIXON 5 Nov 1818 in Ross County records. I am decendent of one of the sons; Henry CLARK m: Mary Graves. John CLARK owned land that stradled Harrison and Richland Townships and ran a saw mill. I have a copy of John CLARK's will which shows him to have remarried to a Hannah. Was this marriage after the death of Ruth in 1868? John CLARK was 72 at his death and he claims 3 children with Hannah; Purley, Samuel, and Enos CLARK. I wish to confirm Hannah's maiden name and date of their marriage. Are these children of John CLARK or were they adopted? There is also an Amy JOHNSON who is shown as age 10 and living with John and Ruth CLARK in the 1860 Census. Amy is claimed as a daughter of John CLARK in his will and he passes a portion of his estate to her heirs Sarah STEVENS, Amy BURERD, Jane JOHNSON, Emery JOHNSON, and George JOHNSON. Hope to communicate with someone that may have added information.
