Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Cartmill of West Main street have gone on a motor trip to Cincinnati, Horse Cave, Kentucky, Chattanooga, Tennessee and other points in the South.

Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Humphreys and daughter Martha of East Main street will go to Detroit tomorrow for a brief visit at the home of their daughters, Mrs. C. A. Wheeler and Mrs. C. C. Hulsach.

Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Miler and son Edwin of Jackson, Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Spridgeon and son, Doyt of Daniel street and Miss Addie Brown of East Crawford street, spent Sunday in Middle Point.

Mrs. Jerry Agler of South Shannon street, Harry Williams of South Shannon street, accompanied by Mrs. J. E. Gross and sons Ted Wayne and Junior of Fort Wayne have gone to Cincinnati to spend a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thuman.

Mrs. J. Clyde Wagstaff, Mrs. Byron J. Smith, Mrs. Robert R. Welch and Mrs. Earl F. Ferguson have returned from Russell's Point where they spent several days at the Wagstaff cottage.  Their husbands spent Sunday at the resort and accompanied them home.

Mr. and Mrs. Gus Ickes and daughter Martha Rose of West Lincoln Highway and Miss Roberta Evans of West Main street left their monring for a four weeks trip on which they will visit Pittsburg and other Eastern cities.  The final week they will spend with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ickes, of Bert, Michigan.

Rockford Girl Becomes Bride of Well Known Lima Resident -- Street Talk
Announcement of the marriage of Miss Ruth Shafler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Shafler of Rockford to William D. McCoy of Lima was made Sunday.  The ceremony was read by the Rev. John S. Altman at the Methodist Episcopal parsonage, Celina in the presence of a few relatives and close friends.

Gilbert Smith of Defiance was named by the Delphos school board to fill the vacancy created through the resignation of Harry Frankfather, coach in Jefferson high for the last two years.  Mr. Smith may be asked to direct athletics in the school this fall.

Miss Elisabeth Elcock who has been visiting her sister, Miss Anna Elcock of East Crawford street, has returned to her home at Omaha, Nebraska.

Miss Rita Branam has returned to her home in Milan, Michigan after visiting her grandfather, Wesley Branam and family of North Washington street.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fawcett have returned to their home at Toledo after a visit with Mrs. F. M. McManus at Middle Point and with friends in this town.

Miss Lenore Hoeken who is attending the summer term of Ohio Northern was at home to spend Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William T. Hoeken of George street.

Mr. and Mrs. Carleton R. Kear who have been guests at the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank E. Longwell of South Washington street left this afternoon for their home at Havana, Cuba.

Mrs. W. H. Spayd of South Walnut street is at home from Azalia, Michigan, where she was a guest of Mrs. D. A. Baker. She also visited her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Behymer at Detroit.

Mrs. M. E. Shultz of West Main street will go to Muskegon, Michigan Thursday to spend the remainder of the summer with relatives. She will be accompanied as far as Jackson by her daughter, Mrs. Charles Shenk.

Mr. and Mrs. William Mankin and daughters, Florence and Agenes and son, Gaylor, Mr. and Mrs. James Mankin and son, Gerald and daughter, Phyllis, and Mr. and Mrs. Cale Tomlinson will go to Huntington, Indiana tomorrow to attend the annual reunion of the Mankin family.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Slattery and daughter have returned to their home in Fort Wayne after spending the weekend with Mrs. Slattery's mother, Mrs. Peter Fair of Ridge township. Their son David accompanied them home after spending the past several weeks with his grandmother, Mrs. Peter Fair.

MILITARY MATTERS
Robert Williams of the United States marines has arrived here from California after being stationed aboard a United States relief ship. Mr. Williams is visiting his mother, Mrs. R. H. Williams of East Main street.

Wilbur C. Colner of North Market street is at home from Bowman Field, Louisville, Kentucky where he attended the Citizen's Military Training Camp. Mr. Colner was in the aviation corps which towed targets for the anti-air craft artillery.
