ALICE THACKER
Mrs. Alice T. Thacker, 70, of 805 E. Fourth St., died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday in Medical Center Hospital after an extended illness. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Robert Styers will officiate and burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fawcett-Oliver and Glass Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Friday and on Saturday morning; then at the church from noon until the hour of the service. Born Aug., 6, 1905, she was married to the Rev. Bernard O. Thacker, who survives. Also surviving are her stepfather, Claude McClanahan, Portsmouth; a daughter, Mrs Alberta Diehl, Clermont, Calif.; two sons, Donald D. Downs, Chillicothe, and Charles William Downs, Senora, Calif.; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Martin, Miami, Fla., and Mrs Ada Willis, Friendship; and two brothers, Thomas Barnett, Friendship; and Arnold McClanahan, Belleview, KY. She was predeceased by a brother.

CATHERINE THACKER
Service for Mrs. Catherine Thacker, 90, who died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at her residence, 805 East Fourth Street, after a five week illness, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the First United Brethren church, of which she was a member. The Rev. H. O. Thompson will officiate and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of C. J. Ware and Son. Mrs Thacker was born in Vinton county on March 3, 1835, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Thacker, and was married to Henry H. Thacker on Jan 30, 1875. Surviving are two sons, Wilford and Sidney E., both of Columbus: two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Weese, this city, and Mrs. C. A Brooks, Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Charles Garrett, Sciotoville; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the residence after 6 p.m. Monday.

HENRY THACKER
Henry H. Thacker, 805 East Fourth street, died this morning, May 7, at 4:55 a.m. with complications, at his late residence. He was born in Vinton County, November 26, 1843, the son of George W. Thacker and Sarah Evans. He was married January 30, 1875, and his wife, Catherine, survives him, together with four children, Cush A. McCartney, Wilford Thacker, of Columbus, Fay Weese and Sidney E. Thacker. Eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. He was a Civil War veteran and a member of First U. B. Church. Funeral arrangements are not yet complete.

IDA THACKER
Mrs. Ida Belle Thacker, 84, of 1466 Elmore Ave., Columbus, native of Chillicothe. Died: Thursday at her residence. Service: 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Schoedinger Linden Chapel, Cleveland Avenue, Columbus. Calling Hours: 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe, with a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Survivors: seven sons, Jesse and Paul, Columbus, Francis, New York, Warren, Oklahoma, Calvin, Florida, John, Chillicothe, and Norman, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers. Predeceased by her husband, Sidney Thacker, and her parents, Peter and Clara Wyatt Heisel.

JESSE THACKER
BORNE INTO THE DEEPER WATER - By the Swift Current and Being Unable to Swim Young Thacker was Drowned. - A SABBATH DAY TRAGEDY - Which Occurred in the Waters of the Scioto North of the Main Street Bridge -- Jesse Thacker, a boy of 17 years, found a watery grave in the Scioto River yesterday afternoon. In company with John Sommers, a companion, he started to the river to bathe shortly after dinner. The place selected for this purpose was a little distance above the Main Street bridge. Here there was a riffle and shallow water and Thacker, who could not swim, was warned to confine himself to a certain district, or else he would step off abruptly into dangerous depths. In the water at this time, besides the unfortunate boy and his companion, Sommers, were other boys, Oscar Griesheimer, Herbert Solders, Albert Kramer, Homer Carr, James Strawser and Hiram Keenan. Thacker waded out a little too far and struck a strong current that carried him down and off into the deep water. As he floated away one hand was above the water and the other boys, not realizing the true situation at first, thought he was in no danger. When the hand disappeared, the awful fact became apparent that he was drowning. Oscar Griesheimer went after him and made an effort at rescue, but it was too late, and Thacker sank out of sight and was seen no more until his body was recovered by Robert Poe and Charles Snyder, who had been attracted to the scene after death had occurred. The coroner was summoned and arrived in company with Doctor Robbins. The hour of their coming was nearly five o'clock. The doctor worked with the boy for more than a half hour, but to no effect. The remains were conveyed in Fenton and Lowery's ambulance to the house of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thacker, on East Fourth Street, near the Jackson Avenue school building. Here a home happy at the dinner hour, when this son was present in life was in deepest sorrow at his return in death. He was one of the principal witnesses in the Poe murder case. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from the home, 805 East Fourth Street. Rev. Vorhees will officiate. Interment at Greenlawn.

SIDNEY THACKER
Service for Sidney E. Thacker, 81, of 750 Madison Ave., will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Heiby Memorial Home with the Rev. Daniel McNutt officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the memorial home after 7 p.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be William Teaford, Leonard LaGard, Charles Warner, Ronald Seymour and Vernon and Thomas Thacker. Mr Thacker died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at his residence. He was born on May 24, 1886, in Vinton County. His parents were Henry and Catherine Thacker. On May 10, 1911, he was married to Ida Belle Heisel, who survives. Also surviving are seven sons, Francis, Long Island, N.Y., Warren, Lawton, Okla., Jess and Paul, Columbus, Norman, Georgetown, KY., Calvin, Grove City, and John at home; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilford, and a sister. Mrs. Ada McCartney, both of Columbus. He was predeceased by a son.
