CHARLES KUTSCHBACH

Charles [Edward] Kutschbach, 67 [born 28 May 1908], Route 4, Kinnikinnick. Died: 1:40 pm Tuesday [30 Dec 1975] in Medical Center Hospital. Burial: Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe. Survivors: his wife, the former Gladys Good; four sons, James, Chillicothe, Joseph, Pleasant Valley, Jerry, Kinnikinnick, and Jack, Route 3; two daughters, Judith, Portsmouth, and Mrs. Charles (Jennifer) Wheeler, Kinnikinnick; 12 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Roy (Edith) Tomlinson, Route 4. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Flora Gray Kutschbach, and two children, John and Jane, both of whom died in 1953. Kutschbach was a retired Mead Corp. employee with 25 years of service. Service: 2pm Friday at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston, with the Rev. Arthur Eddy officiating. Calling Hours: at the funeral home after 6pm tonight.

FLORA KUTSCHBACH

Mrs. Flora Alice Kutschbach, 81, widow of Frederick A. Kutschbach, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Donald Ritter of 122 E. Fourth St., at 8:10 pm Saturday [1956], following an extended illness. A native of Ross County, she was born July 25, 1874 in Ross County, the daughter of Andrew and Charlotte Kunz Gray. She was married to Mr. Kutschbach on August 23, 1894. He died in 1944. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. She was predeceased by two daughters, two sons, three sisters and two brothers. Besides Mrs. Ritter, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Roy Tomlinson of Route 4 and Mrs. Margaret Duey of Columbus; two sons, Clarence of this city and Charles of Route 4; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Service will be conducted at 10:30 am Wednesday, at the Fawcett-Oliver Funeral Home, with the Rev. Melvin Kimble officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4pm Tuesday.

Service for Mrs. Flora A. Kutschbach, 122 E. Fourth St., was held at 10:30 am Wednesday in the Fawcett-Oliver Funeral Home. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Martha Payton was the organist. Pallbearers were Robert, Frederick, James and Raymond Kutschbach, Harold Edwards, and Ralph Duey.

FLORA KUTSCHBACH

Miss Flora Jane Kutschbach, 19, Kinnikinnick, died at 7:15 pm Saturday [21 Mar 1953] in University Hospital, Columbus, where she was admitted two weeks ago. Death was attributed to leukemia. Born Sept. 28, 1933, she was the daughter of Charles and Gladys Good Kutschbach. She was a 1951 graduate of Centralia High School and until several weeks ago was employed at the M. Schachne and Sons department store. Surviving are the parents, two sisters, Judy and Jennifer; five brothers, James, Joseph, Jack and Jerry Lee, all at home, and Pvt. John Edward Kutschbach, at Fort Edwards, Missouri. Also surviving is the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Flora Kutschbach of Chillicothe. Service will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday at Crouse Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe, by Hill Funeral Home, Kingston. The Rev. John Brown will officiate. Friends may call at the residence.

Service for Miss Flora Jane Kutschbach was held Tuesday afternoon at Crouse Chapel, with the Rev. John Brown officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe, by L.E. Hill Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Robert and Frederick Kutschbach, Eugene Strausbaugh, Harold Edwards, Robert Merriman and Robert Speakman. The soloist, Miss Patsy Carmean, was accompanied by Miss Helen Grimes.

FREDERICK KUTSCHBACH

Frederick A. Kutschbach, 73, of 262 East Fifth street, died at his home Monday [Jan 1944] at 3:30 pm. A paint and paperhanger, he resided in this city all his life. He was born on November 1, 1871, the son of Henry and Caroline Hess Kutschbach. On August 23, 1894, he was married to Flora A. Gray. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Roy Tomlinson of Route 4, Mrs. Donald Ritter of this city, and Mrs. Ralph Duey of Columbus; five sons, Clarence, at home, Charles of Route 4, and Robert, Francis and Frederick, all with the Army. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cary McDaniel and Mrs. Catherine Johnson, both of Cleveland; and two brothers, Charles and Frank Kuhn, both of Route 7. Services will be held from Fawcett's Funeral Home, Thursday at 2pm, the Rev. August Schneider officiating, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Fawcett's after 7 pm Tuesday.

GUS KUTSCHBACH

Mr. Gus [Augustus] Kutschbach, for many years leader of a band here, but for a year past engaged at the Soldiers' Home, Dayton, Ohio, died at the latter place, Sunday morning. The remains were brought to the city, Monday, and the funeral took place yesterday.

GLADYS KUTSCHBACH

Gladys Good Kutschbach, 63, Kinnikinnick, died at 6:20am Friday [04 Feb 1977] in University Hospital, Columbus. Funeral service will be at 2 pm Monday at Hill Funeral Home, Kingston, with the Rev. Arthur Eddy officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6:30 pm Saturday. Mrs. Kutschbach was born June 9, 1913, in Chillicothe to George and Susan L. Good. She was married to Charles E. Kutschbach, who died December 30, 1975. She is survived by two daughters, Judith Kutschbach, Portsmouth, and Mrs. Charles (Jennifer) Wheeler, Portsmouth; four sons, James, Chillicothe, Joseph, Brown Avenue, Jerry and Jack, Kinnikinnick; two sisters, Hazel Good, Chillicothe, and Mrs. Ruth Merriman, Flint, Michigan; a brother, George Good, Shubuto, Mississippi; and 12 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son [John], a daughter [Flora], six brothers and two sisters.

HENRY KUTSCHBACH

Henry Kutschbach, aged 63 years, died at the city hospital Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 of complications of disease. He leaves one son, Ferdinand, of this city, a brother, Charles, of Columbus, and two sisters, Mrs Emma Bues and Mrs. Amelia Fallder, both of Columbus. The funeral services will be held at Grohe's undertaking establishment on West Second Street, Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, Rev. Bockstahler officiating. Interment at Greenlawn.

J. FREDERICK KUTSCHBACH

J. Frederick W. Kutschbach, one of our well known German citizens, and an honest, worthy man, died last Friday night [03 Feb 1882]of general debility at seventy-two years of age. He was one of our leading musicians, and his funeral was attended on Sunday by Kunzelman's band, and a large concourse of people.

JOHN KUTSCHBACH

Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Kutschbach, Route 4, were notified in a telegram from the defense department Thursday that their son, Pvt. John E[dward] Kutschbach, had died of wounds in Japan on July 15, 1953. On July 6, the parents were notified by William E. Bergin, adjutant general of the Army, that Pvt. Kutschbach had been "seriously wounded in action" on July 4, in Korea. Pvt. Kutschbach's widow, the former Evelyn Trimble, lives with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Trimble, Route 8. She is employed in the Foulke Block offices of the Boy Scouts of America, Chief Logan Council. She and Pvt. Kutschbach were married May 13, while he was home on furlough. He left on May 15 for Tacoma, Washington, and arrived overseas in June. Apparently, he had been in Korea only a few days when he was wounded. A letter dated June 29, received from him to his parents stated that he was five miles from the front lines. A second letter revealed he was 1-1/2 miles from the front. Pvt. Kutschbach had been employed at the Auto Repair Shop, East Main Street, prior to his induction into the Army in November, 1952. He underwent his basic training at ort Leonard Wood, Missouri. In Korea, he was attached to a Service Engineer Unit of the 7th Infantry Division. Native of this city [Chillicothe], Pvt. Kutschbach was born 22 years ago today [17 Jul 1931] to Charles E. and Gladys Good Kutschbach. He completed his junior year at Centralia High School, after attending Eastern and Centralia grade schools. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by younger brothers and sisters, all at home. They are James, Joseph, Jerry Lee, Jack, Judith Ann and Jennifer. A sister, Jane Kutschbach, died of leukemia March 21. She had been an office employee of M. Schachne & Sons.
