The audience assembled at the Walnut Street church last night, to hear the lecture of Miss Martin of Delaware, received excellent advice as to the method of future expenditure for the Women's Foreign Missionary Society. The meeting was opened with music by the choir, followed with a prayer offered by the presiding elder, Rev. T. R. Taylor, and responsive readings lead by Mrs. Dickinson, from the Ninety-seventh and the One-hundredth psalms.

After a beautiful solo given my Mrs. McKee, Miss Carrie O. Scott stepped forward and in a few graceful words, introduced Miss Martin.

Miss Martin then made an address on "Systematic Giving," decidedly opposing impulsive hap-hazard giving, in the advancement of a good cause, and advising more proportionate, thoughtful giving which reaped the best results. Miss Martin's relation of the progress the society had made in the past year, greatly encouraged the ladies in their renewed labors for year to come.
