CHIEF IS CHEF
Reporters Enjoy Steak Luncheon Prepared by Ben Rout

Chief Ben W. ROUT is a good chef City Hall reporters were ready to testify to that effect on Thursday after devouring luscious porterhouse steaks, a mountain of mashed potatoes, to say nothing of head lettuce salad, celery, olives and other trimmings, prepared by the chief-chef.

The luncheon was served by Chief ROUT after reporters questioned the veracity of the enthusiastic reports circulated among headquarters concerning ROUT’S ability as a cook. Mayor James F. FORD was a guest also.




HELD FOR ASSAULT

Marion CRISPIN, 60, inmate of the Ross County Home, was arrested Wednesday night by Constable Joseph CALDWELL and is being held at the county jail for a hearing Thursday afternoon before Squire William A. NOTH on a charge of assault and battery filed by H. E. CONNERS, assistant to the superintendent of the home.
 




TROOP 85 OFFERS DRAMATIC SKETCH
“The Mail Goes Through is Scout’s Vehicle”

Dramatization of sketches on the subject, “The Mail Goes Through” presented by each of the patrols occupied most of the meeting of Boy Scout Troop 85, at St. Paul’s church, Wednesday night.

Games and first aid demonstrated were in charge of Franklin BROWN and Bob WEST. Four Scouts acted the part of injured persons and were treated by the patrols. An amusing operation was performed on Leroy COLLINS by “doctors” Thomas CAHILL and Arthur WELLS.

Scouts were reminded to do their bit toward feeding birds by Scoutmaster Wade J. BEVERLY jr. who also discussed selection of patrol names.

Mr. A. I. CAHILL was a visitor.


PARTITION SUIT

Maurice LEATHERWOOD, 18, and Ann LEATHERWOOD, 17, by their next friend, Lillie LEATHERWOOD, have filed suit in common pleas court for partition of a city lot at Sugar and Fourth street. Lillie LEATHERWOOD and Harry LEATHERWOOD are named defendants in the action in which Attorney J. Francis CUTRIGHT represents the plaintiffs.
 


WILL OF C. V. NEFF

All property of the late Charles V. NEFF of Chillicothe is left to his wife Edith S. NEFF, for life, according to the terms of his will, dated Sept. 10, 1935, and admitted to probate Wednesday. Upon the death of his wife, the property is to be shared by their sons and daughters, 15 per cent each to Faye Neff HAMM, Bernard V. NEFF, Cleta Neff COMPTON, Marguerite Neff EVELAND, and Carolyn Neff MUSIC, 5 percent to Nannie NEFF QUEEN, 2 per cent each to Herman NEFF and Ruth Neff CAMP; and 1 per cent or $1 to John E. NEFF. The wife is nominated as executrix.
 


BUTCHER DIVORCE

Divorce from Ellen BUTCHER to whom he was married Dec. 15, 1931, at Chillicothe, is sought by Asa BUTCHER in a petition filed in common pleas court Wednesday in which he charges neglect and cruelty. They have no children. Attoney Willard C. WALTER represents the plaintiff.
