Adam Betz II, the son of Adam Betz, was born on 01 Oct 1744 in Chester County, Pennsylvania. He married Margaret Forger about 1772 in New Hanover, Pennsylvania. He was employed as the Ross County Jailer on 11 Feb 1803. He married Henrietta Calloway on 12 Oct 1814 in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. He served in the military in the Revolutionary War. He was Doorkeeper (Sergeant At Arms) of the Territorial Legislature. He died on 17 Nov1839 at Chillicothe, Ohio and is buried in Grandview Cemetery in the Patriots section.
Mary Betz, daughter of Adam Betz II and Margaret Forger, was born in 1779 in Pennsylvania. She married Joseph H. Shepherd on 21 Apr 1809 in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. She died on 15 Aug 1872 in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. She was also known as "Polly", "Betch". Her cause of death was Old Age
Ophelia Shepherd, daughter of Joseph H. Shepherd and Mary Betz, was born on 02 May 1813 in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. She married Cotman Gillespie Phillips on 13 Dec 1832 in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. She died on 18 Oct 1897 in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. She was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio
Mary E. Phillips, the daughter of Cotman Gillespie Phillips and Ophelia Shepherd, was born on 16 Jun 1834 in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. She married David Armstrong, Civil War Veteran (Co K, 73rd OVI) on 19 Aug 1851 in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. She died on 14 Oct 1863. It is probable that her cause of death was due to complications from child birth..She was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio.

He married Thelma Veronica Lang on 22 Jun 1931 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. He died on 06 Jul 1978 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio and is buried in St. Margaret's Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ohio.
