Aaron Grady B: 1825 married Margaret Rogers in 1849.  She died in a/b 1868 and they had 3 children, Laura, Charles and Hugh. Laura was the great grandmother of my husband, Larry Kenworthy.

SHERIDAN’S VICTORY –AT THE BATTLE OF CEDAR CREEK VA.

October the 19th 1864

The nineteenth of October in the year of sixty four,

Will never be forgotten till time shall be no more

.Long time in even balance the fearful conflict hung.

As the foeman’s column’s against our left were swung.

Twas early in the morning while darkness yet prevailed

The stealthy, southern army our sleeping camps assailed

And sought to take advantage and thus victory gain.

But they were disappointed and many of them slain.

Over all the valley a misty cloud was seen

Hanging like a curtain the battling hosts between;

While upon the breezes there came a fearful cry

From the moving thousands who thought us to defy
