Richland County Ohio
Obituaries
"H" thru
"Z" Surnames
View and enter your Richland County Ohio
obituaries here.
To enter your Richland County obituaries:
1- On first line put name of deceased. Use the name in the
obit. If you want to rename the individual to clarify who they
are add that name in parenthesis after the obit name. Look below
for examples of this. Do this to include maiden names or full
names for individuals given initials only in the obit.
2-On the second line put the name of the newspaper,
newspaper's town, date of issue where obituary is found, page,
column, if known. PLEASE.... Richland County newspapers only...
or another newspaper if the individual was a current or former
resident of Richland County.
3-Type out the obituary capitalizing all SURNAMES. Don't
put given names or locations all in caps, just the surnames. Now
here's the hard part. Limit your obituary to less than 300
words. This may be hard. Some obituaries go on and on. Figure
out what to keep... what to drop. If we get something too long
we'll have to send it back to you for editing. If you have
corrections, notes, etc. to add to an obit (put them in
parenthesis). Also remember, notes will be added on as part of
the 300 word limit.
4-put "submitted by [your name and email address] at
the end. If you want to, include your postal address as well.
It's as simple as that! Now, take a look at the obituaries we
have so far:

- STINE - John Adam STINE
Independent News, Shelby, Ohio 12 Oct 1876
- On the 6th inst, at his late residence, John Adam STINE,
aged 81 years, 7 months and 19 days. Father Stine
was born in Lebanon County, PA. In 1833 he came to
Ohio and lived five years in Clark County, from which
place he moved to Richland County, where he lived the
remainder of his days. His family consisted of wife
and seven children, of whom his wife and two children
preceeded him to a better world. In early life he
united with the Ev. Lutheran Church, and for sixty years
held fast to his profession of faith without wavering, a
regular attendant upon the means of grace, leading a
quiet and peaceable life. During the last six
months, while the outward man was rapidly perishing, the
inward man was renewed day by day, so that he had a
desire to be absent from the body and to be present with
the Lord. Death had no terrors to his mind.
When the hour of his departure came, without a groan and
without a struggle he fell asleep in Jesus. His
funeral took place last Sabbath at the London Church,
attended by a large congregation. The funeral
sermon was preached by Rev F. J. RUTH his former pastor,
from the words, Weep not for me but weep for yourselves
and for your children.
