The members of the board of managers of the reformatory have been having a shirt waist party today at the institution as the excessive heat has penetrated even to the meeting place of the board and coats were quickly shed.  The members of the board met Tuesday evening and a number of matters were taken up and discussed informally and the work of the session mapped out.  This morning at 8 o'clock the board went into session with all of the members in attendance.  The minutes of the previous meeting were read, after which came the reports of the various committees and the monthly financial and statistical report of Superintendent Leonard.  Other matters came in for attention.  The principal business of the morning session was the consideration of numerous applications for parole from inmates, this being one of the four meetings of the year at which paroles are considered.  Judge Wickham, of Norwalk, appeared before the board in behalf of Jerry Williams, a Knox County prisoner up for attempt at burglary.  Williams was released and taken in charge by the judge.  James Clarry, sent up from Clinton County for burglary, was granted an absolute discharge.  At this afternoon's meeting the board considered a number of bills and estimates after which the managers met with the county commissioners in regard to the bridge at the reformatory which is in need of attention.
