Rev. Melvin Alex Rader
Funeral services for the Rev. Melvin Alex Rader, 67, of Trego Road, Waverly, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly.
Rader was dead on arrival at Pike Community Hospital at 12:30 a.m., October 30, (1986). He was the current pastor of the Trego Road Church of God.
Rader was born June 8, 1919, in Scioto County to John Martin and Anna Kitchen Rader. He was a retired employee of the Veterans Administration Medical
Center in Chillicothe in addition to his duties as pastor of the Trego Road Church. He a veteran of World War II in the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Catherine Damron Rader, whom he married January 13, 1950; four sisters, Vidas Kelly of Ironton, Audrey Lawson of Wheelersburg, Mae Williams and Ruby Weber, both of Baltimore, Maryland; one brother, Paul Eugene Rader of Lucasville.
He was preceded by two borthers and his parents.
Funeral services were performed by the Rev. Reginald Brandenburg. Interment was in Mt. Latham
Cemetery.
