Roy H. Hatfield
Funeral services for Roy H. Hatfield, 78, a retired area farmer of Columbus, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Sandy Chapel Church. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery under the direction of the A. H. Boyer Funeral Home of Waverly.
Mr. Hatfield, who resided at 498 W. State St., Columbus, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct 20 in Columbus after a short illness.
Born Apr. 17, 1888 in Ross County, he was the son of John D. and Pamela (Holcomb) Hatfield.
His wife, Ina L. Hatfield died in Sept. 1952.
Surviving are three sons, Murhrel R., Earl L. and Beryl Hatfield, all of Columbus; five daughters, Mrs. Bonadine Shark and Mrs. Emly Butts and Mrs. Marilyn Gibson all of Columbus, Mrs. Ruth Gilliam of Londonderry and Mrs. Avonelle Hickman of Westerville; 31 grand children and 26 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Rosena Woods of Waverly, Mrs. Alta Stulley, Rt. 3, Waverly and Mrs. Lola Landrum of Chillicothe.
Notes from the submitter: I believe his mom’s name is Permelia and not Pamela. Also Muhrel did not spell his name as Murhrel. And Elmy’s name is misspelled here, it is not Emly as listed in obit. Also sister Rosena spelled her name as Wood , no (s). Roy's middle name was Harrison.
