Long Illness Fatal to William H. Maloy
William Henry Maloy, 86, well known retired Omega postmaster, died at 7 a.m., Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Miss Goldie Maloy of 20 South Sugar Street, Chillicothe, where he had resided for the last five years. He had been in ill health for four years, prior to his death.
In addition to his long term as a postmaster in Omega; he was a secretary of the Modern Woodmen of America for thirty years and was a twenty year member of the Jackson Township board of trustees, serving as a clerk.
Born in Vinton County on May 16, 1868, he was the son of Alfred and Julia England Maloy. His wife, Cora Bell, preceded him in death February 26, 1909.
Surviving are two sons, Elijah Maloy of Waverly and Walter Maloy of Portsmouth; two daughters, Miss Goldie Maloy, with whom he made his home, and Mrs. Hazel Wick of Columbus; eleven grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The body remained at the A. H. Boyer Funeral Home her until Thursday evening when it was removed to his former residence in Omega, now the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merill Davis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday from the Omega Methodist Church with Rev. E. H. Baker of Chillicothe officiating.
Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.
