     Charles Elmer Farmer, 68, a Pike County native was found dead Tuesday evening, February 12th at his residence in Ironton, by neighbors.  Mr. Farmer had been in failing health for three years and it is believed that he died Saturday.  He lived alone.
     Mr. Farmer was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps in World War I and was a former employee of the International Nickel Company of Huntington, West Virginia.
     Born on December 28, 1894 in this county, he was a son of Michael and Mary B. (Frey) Farmer.
     Surviving are three sisters; Mrs. Myrtle Vulgamore and Mrs. Florence Way, both of Waverly, Route #3 and Mrs. Bertha Gregg of Waverly and one brother, Earl Farmer of Waverly, Route #3.
     Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the A. H. Boyer Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery here.  The casket will be closed, at all times.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Friday.
