Charles W. (Bill) Wheeling

     Charles W. (Bill) Wheeling, 63, of Alexander Road, Piketon, died Tuesday, April 23 in the V. A. Medical Center in Cincinnati.
     Born April 11, 1933 in Elm Grove, Ohio to Harry and Mildred Alexander Wheeling, he was a sergeant first class with the U. S. Army with 20 years of service and served during the Vietnam War. He was retired from the Parks of Recreation in Opelika, Ala., and was a member of the Lee County Masonic Lodge in Opelika.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Marty Wheeling; a daughter, Nada Jean Wheeling; a brother, Lee Wheeling; and three sisters, Grace, Agnes and Nancy.
     He is survived by a brother, Raymond Wheeling, and four sisters, Jean Huffenberger of Wilmington, Ohio; Donna Penn of Piketon; Alice Gardner of Otway; and Virginia Geus of Columbus.
     Funeral services were to be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with minister Darrell Pinkerton officiating. Burial was to follow in Smith Hill Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by American legion Merritt Post 142 of Waverly.
     Visitation was held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
