 William B. Dunkle                  

     William B. Dunkle, 88, well known retired farmer of Waverly, Route #3, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, January 29th at the Pike County Hospital following an illness of two months.
     A native of Wayne County,  West Virginia, he was born on November 22, 1870, a son of James and Eglantine Ray Dunkle.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, who died January 22, 1929.
     Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Marilla Broomfield of Columbus, Mrs. Gertrude Connolly of St. Albans, West Virginia, Mrs. Agatha Hurles of Chillicothe, Route 5, Mrs. Alice Davidson and Mrs. Marjorie Arnett, both of Waverly, Route 3; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and three brothers; Robert and Harry Dunkle, both of Huntington, West Virginia and Vivian Dunkle of Grayson, Kentucky.
     Mr. Dunkle was a member of Cross Roads Methodist Church in Huntington, but had been a well known farmer in Pike County for many years.
     Funeral service were held at 2 p.m., Sunday at the Norway Church of Nazarene in Huntington with burial following in Woodmere Cemetery there under the direction of the A. H. Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly.  A new minister at the Cross Roads Methodist Church officiated at the final rites.  Friends called at the funeral home here  after 4 p.m. Friday until early Sunday morning when the body was moved to the West Virginia City.
