Stephen Renode
---In this place (Pike County, Illinois), at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. L. Bennett, on the evening of the 4th last. Mr. Stephen Renode, aged 78 years died. ( He died at the home of his daughter Deborah and her husband Lucius Bennett)
His death was occasioned by him falling from a fence, and his suffering was intense for some three days, when death came to his relief. He leaves an aged companion with whom he had lived over 53 year.
Note: Stephen Renode ( Renoud) was my great great great grandfather ( Andrew Arnow's) second cousin. Stephen's family originated in New Rochelle, New York and was of Huguenot extraction. He lived in Pittsfield, Ill. He originally lived as a young man in Fairfield, Connecticut before heading out West.
