A PIKE FARMER DIED LATE ON THURSDAY

     Stephen Graham, prominent farmer and one of the pioneer citizens of Pike County, died Thursday afternoon at 6 o'clock at his home near Beaver. The cause of his death was kidney trouble and infirmities of old age, he having been born in December, 1828, consequently he had attained the advanced age of almost 82 years. He was a most estimable man and was honored by his party by being chosen for county commissioner more than a [score?] years ago. He filled the office with credit to his party and himself as well.   He was also elected to numerous offices in his township.
     He is survived by two children, James and Mary, son and daughter both at home. His wife died several years ago.  Wesley, of Stockdale, James of Missouri, William and Ellis of near Harrisonville are brothers and Mrs. Lucy Brown, a sister, residing at Stockdale also survives.
    The funeral will be held from the [Bumgarner] church Sunday morning.  Interment will follow in the family burial lot in the cemetery nearby.
