Nancy Jane Abshire
Nancy Jane Abshire, 65, of Columbus died 11:55 p.m. Sunday at University Hospital there after an extended illness.
Born December 27, 1919 in Delbarton, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Kenny Curry and Cora Ferrell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil Abshire, who she had married Aug 30, 1937; and a brother.
She was a member of the Church of God of Columbus.
Surviving are a son, Chester, of New Albany, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Claudine Hall, of 1968 McCoy Road, Peebles, and Mrs. Joanne Staley, of West Jefferson; brother, James Curry, of Delbarton, West Virginia and five sisters; Mrs. Easter Chapman, of Mesa, Arizona; Mrs. Ersa Foster, Tucson, Arizona; Mrs. Goldie Hargrove of Sulfolk, Virginia; Mrs. Elizabeth Calloway, of Chauncey, West Virginia; Mrs. Vesta Varney, of Kemper, Kentucky.
Eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Botkins Funeral Home, Waverly.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend James McCain officiating. Interment will be made in Gardner Cemetery.
