JAMES HIGBY DIES SUDDENTLY
Well Liked Relief Investigator is Victim of Sudden Heart Attack
The death of James O. Higby, 49, of Higby Station, popular relief investigator in Ross County, came with shocking suddenness at 10:30 Wednesday evening in the City hospital, following an illness of four days with a heart attack.
Mr. Higby, a member of a prominent family in Ross County, was a very competent worker, indefatigable in the prosecution of his work for the relief in this county. His strenuous walking trips in the Hill County while on duty. No doubt contributed to the attack suffered Sunday, from which he never recovered. As a last resort, he was taken to the hospital on Wednesday evening, where he was administered oxygen by his physician, Dr. L. T. Franklin. His demise followed shortly afterward.
James O. Higby was born Nov 12, 1884, the son of Charles and Mary L. Crowe Higby.
He was a member of the Walnut Street M. E. Church and active in Masonic bodies, including the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Shrine Club of Chillicothe and Columbus.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Boylan Higby, and three sisters, Miss Minnie Higby, of Higby, Ohio; Mrs. Hiram Smith of Waverly and Mrs. James Eisenhart of Columbus.
Funeral service were held from the late residence on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. L. V. Sims officiating and burial was made at Grandview Cemetery at Chillicothe.
