Mrs. Ida E. Holt,
 87, Former Pike Lady, Dies in Chillicothe

Mrs. Ida Ellen Holt , 87, a former Pike Countian residing at 219 Sugar Street, Chillicothe for the past six years, died at the residence at 10:30 P.M. Friday.  She had been in failing health since last January.  Born in Seal Township, Pike County on May 5, 1869, she was the daughter of Jacob and Nancy Richardson Farmer.  Her husband, Elisha Holt preceded her in death in 1932.  Surviving are five sons, William and Carroll Holt, both of Piketon, Route 1, George Holt and Absolem Holt both of Akron and Chester Holt of Stowe, Ohio; six daughters, Mrs. Anna Dawson of Piketon, Route 1, Mrs. Rosa Grooms of Piketon, Route 2, Mrs. Grace Echard of Chillicothe, Route 7, Mrs. Margaret Weichmann of Lucasville, and Miss Emma and Miss Elma Holt, both at home; 33 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Farmer of Chillicothe, Route 7.  A daughter preceded her in death.  She was a member of the Ferree-Gilead Christian Union Church near Piketon.  Funeral Services were held at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Howe Company Funeral Home with Rev. John Kellough of Chillicothe, Route 7 officiating.  Burial followed in Mound Cemetery, Piketon.

NOTE : Mrs. Holt died 7 Dec 1956 Ross Co Ohio.  She married Elisha Holt 29 Mar 1889 ,Pike County, Oh.....Even though this obit says Ida is survived by sister Mrs. Emma Farmer, I believe this Emma Farmer never married.
